How I Spaced My Ears To 1/2 Inch

When A week ago
It all started a couple of months ago, I chose to go with a couple of friends and get my ears pierced. When I got them pierced they didn't hurt as much as I had anticipated, but there was a sort of burning sensation in my lobes.

The next day at school I got bombarded with questions on why would I do such a thing? And did it hurt? The reason everyone was shocked is because I wasn't the one who they expected to get their ears pierced. My mom was furious that night when I came in, I sort of neglected to tell her I was piercing my ears. After a stern talking to and a slap on the wrist she got over it. I got past all of the comments, questions, and shock and just carried on with my life.

After about a month of healing I decided to start spacing my ears. The reason for this was because when I was in the mall one day in April I saw someone with earlobes bigger than a toonie. I was really intrigued by this and thought it was a great way to express my style. I went to one of my friends who had 0 gauge lobes at the time and bought all of her tapers, stretches, plugs and tunnels for 20 dollars. She said I got a really great deal but I didn't really know much about the pricing of earrings at the time.

By the time I had bought all of the earrings I had already taken out the cheap studs and put in stainless steal 16 gauge rings. I felt almost no difference and that night decided to switch to 14 gauges. They had little balls on the end so when I turned my head the rings leaned towards the ground due to gravity. Obviously it felt extremely odd because my ears had adapted to light studs and wondered what was going on when I stuck in heavier rings.

My mother didn't exactly notice my earlobes getting larger until I had made it to 6 gauge plugs. She noticed because I took a really long time in the bathroom one afternoon and she wondered what I was doing to she knocked on the door. I told her to go away but she proceeded to come in. She flipped when she saw some blood on my fingers and me trying to shove in these large plugs. After a tube of polysporn and a hot shower my ears had there own pulse but were safely at 6 gauges.

Approximately one week from my 6 gauge ordeal I was at it again. I lubed up a 2 gauge taper and slid it easily through my right lobe then put a 2 gauge ring in. I did the same to my left lobe. I then sat down to dinner with my family. My mom noticed right away and said she would have a talk with me after dinner was over. She didn't want to make a scene in front of our relatives. After dinner she dragged me to the living room and had a major talk with me, all about how could I do this to my body, don't I respect it, how would I ever get a job and stuff like that. She literally exploded. I then told her that I was only going one more size, which I obviously wasn't going to be, and said they would heal over if and when I chose to take them out.

The next day everything had cooled off and my mom was back to normal. That day I got paid and took my money to a store called Green Earth. They sell an assortment of body modification jewellery. I bought 0 gauge plugs and loved them. That night I put slid through a 0 gauge taper in the right and left ear. I slept on them and the next morning I pushed in the 0 gauge plugs.

After about 3 days of those I got extremely bored of not having pain in my ears and bought a double zero gauge taper and tunnels. These proved to be very troublesome. I ended up splitting open the back of my right earlobe and was forced to put back in the 0 gauge plug. 2 days later I successfully had both 00 tunnels in my lobes.

That weekend at work I started talking to a new girl whose lobes were at ¾'s of an inch, 1 inch now. She said she had tons of tunnels at her house and me being the person who is very impatient when it comes to long term things accepted half inch tunnels from her. This caused me to go out and buy a half inch taper. I have to say it really hurt to sleep on an earlobe in severe pain. I did manage to get a full night's sleep and slip in the tunnels the next morning.

It has been 2 weeks and my earlobes are completely healed. They are as clean as anything and have no weird smells or gross puss. I have to say I've been very lucky that my earlobes did not get infected. I do NOT advise spacing your earlobes as fast as I did. I was very impatient and chose to at my own will. I'm sure if I waited the full 2 weeks between each size my ears would be a lot less thin but I'm very pleased with them and do not regret it one bit.
