I hadn't really thought about getting my tragus pierced much before, although it was something I had considered and thought yeh maybe one day! id seen it on people and thought it looked pretty cool in the past and about a week before I had it done I saw a girl with hers done and thought how nice it looked and it was then I got thinking about my piercings and along the lines of hmmm what next!!? due to my job im limited to the piercings I can actually get done unfortunately . so after a quick look on the net on Friday afternoon I discover A. this part of the ear is called the tragus and B. I definitely want it done!!

Im not really bothered about the pain factor anymore or waste my time getting nervous after a couple of peircings you know what to expect and and accept that a needle been shoved through your skin is going to hurt! To what degree it hurts you can only know after the event..fortunately?!!
So off I go the following afternoon to a place called zoo tattoo (hull,uk) im not really nervous at this point or anything, I walk in an notice straight away the place looks modern and clean , the walls are covered in tattoo designs an I cant help look at them and think hmmm another tattoo while im here?! He he . anyway the guy says hes got a tattoo to do and to come back in half an hour so I go for a walk and look in a few shops I suppose at this point I was a little nervous but in a good way its hard to explain but I imagine most people on here will know what I mean its like a nervous excitement.
Anyway half an hour goes by and I go back to the shop, im given a form to fill in and then its my turn. I go into a room and he asks which side I want done, I decide on the left side and then he tells me to lay on the bed on my side. Im feeling ok at this point an notice he has his tragus pierced also so I ask does it hurt?! he says not much and definitely not as much as your tongue piercing so im happy enough, then he says 'the thing about this piercing though is you'll hear a pop as it goes through' ... and now im scared!!
He puts the clamp/tong ... things on and draws the mark on my ear then before I know whats what its through! And yes it did hurt il be honest with you and yes I could hear like a crunching sound. At this point I said something like 'it did hurt you bloody liar' haha to be honest though its only hurt as much as id expected it would despite certain people on the net claiming it didn't while this reassured me I was till thinking along the lines of ..it cant possibly not hurt?!!.. I guess everyone is different though! And it literally is 1 second of pain as it goes in so it seriously is nothing to worry about and Id go tomorrow and get the other side done if I wanted it done no question!
Anyway the bar was in and balls screwed on in a flash which stung a bit and the he just told me to lie still while he cleaned it up as it was bleeding and made a joke about me been brave he he. I was kind of curled up in a ball on my side at the point!!
After it was cleaned up he gave me a tissue incase it started bleeding and I got up and had a look in the mirror NICE!! Very happy with how it looked and also very happy with the price of £10! I also bought a tongue bar while in there as they had loads of body jewellery in and it was also nice and cheap at £3 for my tongue bar.
He told me to clean it as normal and to come back in a few weeks when swelling gone so he could see what size bar I would need to buy next. Also to try turn it so that the hole forms properly while its healing.
So I went home very happy with my new piercing! Kept going to look at it in the bathroom mirror.
Iv now had it done a week and a half now and it hurts a little to touch but apart from that its almost healed! I have to say though it got worse before it got better, it was hurting a fair bit in the days that followed and I needed to take painkillers and the slightest touch absolutely hurt like hell!!
it was the 5th day that was the worst my face swelled up a bit and was absolutely killing me, the night before the ball had fallen off and it took a painful ten minutes to screw it back on and I don't think this helped. I took some strong painkillers for this and ended up been sick so I was in a right state with myself!! By the next day though the swelling went down and I was fine!
All in all im very pleased I got it done and am back to thinking...hmm what next!!
