I'm a 16 year old teenager and had been quite bored with my appearance for a while after many bizarre looks and changes I had gone through so I decided one day after looking at this exact piercing site that I should get a piercing. I looked through many of the interesting and quite absurd looking piercing to finally settle for an ear piercing. I'm not quite into facial piercing, so I looked up the snug, daith and rook. After a while of searching I finally came across the industrial. It stuck out to me. The industrial was striking, unique and hot. After one glance I knew I had to get one.
At A Glance Author lwin When N/A So over the next few days I researched on other various sites on accounts and facts on the industrial piecing. Many sounded like stories out of a horror novel. Some accounts told of the excruciatingly brutal pain you had to go through to get the piercing done. Others said it was just like someone pricking your ear. Confused over these contradicting stories, being the ambitious, stubborn person I am I contemplated on many numerous piercing parlours and finally opted for the local tattoo parlour. I knew they would be the most experienced and be the most professional. Deffinately not the type to get Hep C. from.
The following Saturday I went in at 12 in the afternoon to get the industrial done. A few of my friends came in with me to show some moral support. (Just to inform you that I was a nervous 16 year old at the time.) My peircer was quite friendly and seemed to know what she was doing. She took me through the steps of the piercing and prepared me for the pain and numbness. I decided to get the bar put in immediately instead of getting studs in. She then positioned the piercing to my desired position which is more unusual because I got the bottom piercing done a lot more lower that the usual. This was to make it more noticeable. She then went into the procedure of rubbing my cartilage with antiseptic. I was already nervous enough without my friends shouting out how bad the pain would be, and then she stuck the needle up to me ear. In all the nervous anticipation and waiting I did not notice the first hole was done. I looked at her in mock horror and realised she had just pierced my ear. I had not felt anything! There was hardly any pain and only a small throbbing sensation. Then the next hole was to be done, and having previously read the stories on how much more the 2nd hole hurts, I became my nervous, shaking self once again. But even more surprisingly I felt after as the first hole. It didn't really hurt and my ear was only throbbing a bit. Even the piercer was quite shocked that a 16 year old girl could easily handle the pain, the rest of the audience in the parlour were quite revolted by the thought of how much pain they thought I had just gone through.
After the piercing, which cost me the normal rate of $120, I was instructed on how to clean my new industrial. I was clearly told not to use antiseptic but instead to use sea salt that you bought from the supermarket mixed with luke warm water. But I found from using that form of cleansing, that it only made my ear bigger, sore and redder. My ear was creating pus and getting even more swollen. So after a month of no improvement I finally decided to switch to antiseptic ear spray and see how that turned out. Now it has been 2 days and my ear is already showing massive signs of improvement. My ear reacted better to the spray than to the antiseptic. So for those who are wishing to get an industrial done and find no signs of healing, I strongly advise them to switch to antiseptic spray. Now my industrial is on the blissful path back to normal and I'm loving it.
The next piercing on my list is the vertical tragus which I think Is almost just as sexy as the industrial.
For those people who want to get an industrial but are to scared because of the pain I strongly advise them to get on with it and ignore the pain. Because half the time it is only your mind telling you that it hurts. Sometimes you have to go through pain to feel pleasure.
It's been a month and 2 weeks since I have gotten an industrial done and I have not looked back since. I am extremely happy with the outcome and finding myself more in love with it every day.
I'm 16, have an industrial, and loving it.
