The story of my anti tragus is rather short but sweet. For I was walking through my local town centre, Rotherham, and spotted the sign for my favourite piercing parlour. Devil Bitch. Now this isn't one of the most appealing places to look at, but in my opinion its one of the best tattooing and piercing wise. Everything is always sterile and everyone is always really nice and friendly.

So I was walking down through Rotherham town centre, on my way into the bus station with my best friend and her boyfriend, to go buy him a cardigan in Sheffield, after a quick detour into Subway that is. We walked down past the fountains and the banks and the shops when I suddenly clapped eyes on the lit up sign for Devil Bitch.
I decided in seconds that I was going to have my anti tragus pierced on my left hand side. I had thought about getting another piercing sometime soon, and i knew it couldnt be anything on my face because of work so i decided on my Anti Tragus, left side. Mainly because I thought if it was on my right, it would clash with the tragus that's already there. So after a small pit stop at the cash machine, I'd just been paid lol, I was on my way up the stairs that led to the studio. I was greeted within a few minutes by a guy I didn't recognise all that much, but I wasn't phased by this as I trusted his judgement entirely because he works there! Quite alarming, but I did :]
I told the guy that I wanted my anti tragus pierced and he brought me out a form to fill in asking if I was allergic to anything or had any skin conditions such as Eczema or Diabetes, you get the picture, and then asked me my name, age, address and telephone number. After I filled in and signed the form i left me friends looking at tattoos, not that any of them would have one (they're too big a wusses) he led me into the back room where a guy was having a tattoo extended. And after a quick enquiry into the price: £10 for a ring, £20 for a bar, which was good for me, as I wanted a ring anyway! I was ready and was sat down on a comfy chair and then marked out with a purple pen listening to the dulcet tones of Bob Marley's 'I Shot The Sherrif'.
When the guy first marked my ear I thought it was a little high, so I asked him to lower it because I knew that they have a high rejection rate. He then quickly removed the pen with this spray thingy and proceeded to re-mark my ear, a little lower, and in an absolutely perfect position. I told him that I was happy with it. And he removed the needle from the packaging and set it out on a paper towel. He then got out a ball clamp ring and removed the ball and set the two pieces down alongside the needle.
He got out the clamps and then clamped my ear over the little pen marks. And I must say, this hurt a fair bit. But then again I don't have a particularly high pain threshold. But after he had clamped my ear, I was told to breathe in slowly over 3 seconds then exhale slowly over three seconds. I felt the needle going in, but there was very little pain. It hurt more in comparison to my tragus, but it was only uncomfortable for a few seconds.
The jewellery was in quickly and I didn't even feel it going it! Possibly because of the adrenaline, but whatever. I felt a small tug on my ear when the ball was put in place, which made me bleed a tiny bit. I was given some tissue by the guy who then told me the cleaning process. Which I already knew, but it was good to be refreshed on it.
I paid him and thanked him and was on my way out within 20 minutes of walking in the shop, meeting my friends on the way out. I went and bought some Savlon Antiseptic Spray from Boots and sprayed it in the toilets in the interchange. And then went shopping with no discomfort or pain at all!
And that was yesterday! I woke up this morning to a tiny amount of blood on the bottom hole, but other than that I've had no problems what so ever with it! Overall, id say this is a really fun piercing and would recommend it to anyone who's thinking about having it done!
Happy Piercing!
