Alright so here is the story of my industrial piercing. My roommate and I met at the beginning of the school year as freshmen in college and luckily we became not only good roomies but great friends! Well us two girls met two baseball players that live upstairs and fell in love, but anyway the boys were away playing for the weekend and we got bored so what better to do than get a piercing.

Our first stop was to go to this place called Cherry Bomb. My roommate had previously had her industrial pierced there but due to excessive bumps and pain she decided to take it out. I had also had a previous experience with a nose piercing here which not only made me pass out but was so uncomfortable I also removed it due to pain, but these are other stories for other times.
The guy who had done my nose piercing agreed to do my industrial but told us his hands were too big to do Ariel's tragus. My roommate and I wanted to share our experience so we decided on going to my regular place of piercing, Mr. Naturals.
We walked in to a much more inviting environment at Mr. Natural's, but our anticipation had also started to build. We were greeted by one of the tattoo artists and he asked us what we wanted and had us fill out the basic forms. While we were doing the paperwork he called Tisha to do our piercing.
Tisha is quite the cool lady, lots of tattoos and tons of piercing all of which look great on her. I explained to her that I really wanted my industrial done but at one point had been told know because I lacked the traditional ridge around my ear. She explained to me that whoever told me that was full of crap and she would be glad to do my industrial. She brought me over to the jewelry so she could find the right length bar to fit my ear. Tisha autoclaved the bar and proceeded to set up the rest of her tools.
I sat on the doctor like table and she marked my ears. I checked it out and I totally loved it! She wore glove and opened everything in front of me just as she had when she pierced my belly button and my tongue. Side note: I still have my belly button, but removed the tongue ring due to it creating sore spots from rubbing in my mouth, but I do miss it.
Tisha laid me back and told me to relax. I immediately went into my I am getting pierced Zen state. I must in form you that my roommate is squeezing my hand tremendously hard even though I am the one on the table, and she is telling me how bad hers hurt, but I cowgirled up and went on. Tisha keeps talking and I feel the first needle being pressed through the top of my ear and it hurts but nothing unbearable and then shortly follows the second needle through the bottom, at this point I am in some pain but I am more worried about what switching in the jewelry will feel like because that to me is always the worst part. I hear my roommate say wow that was quick and I ask when are you going to put the bar in and Tisha tells me your done sweetie!
I love it! I was so happy and the pain was truly minimal. I am using the salt spray on it
and up to this point I have managed no to hit or bump it to terribly bad!
My roommate was less brave than I and she cried as she got her tragus pierced. All in all the experience was great! I plan on going back in about 2 months to get another bar its pink and wavy it's very very cool! It was a little expensive, I paid sixty dollars for the piercing and ten dollars for the salt spray, but it was better than passing out and removing the piercing later.
I suggest that if you are getting pierced to go somewhere that has a specific person to do piercing and they enjoy it. I remember that when going to get my tattoo he said he does piercing but does not like to do it very often. If you go somewhere like Mr. Natural's that is all Tisha does and she is very good at what she does. A confident piercer makes for and overall great piercing experience.
My next piercing is going to be my rook or tragus, not quite sure yet, but I know that I will be going to Tisha to get it done. Always make sure your jewelry is autoclaved, needles are opened new, new needle for every hole aka industrial requires two needles, and that the artist is comfortable and cleanly! Happy piercing everyone!
