Hello to all BME readers out there. This is the tale of my second (well technically second and third) piercing experience and it is a lot less scary hygiene etc wise than my last one which can be found here.

This is the tale of my double parallel industrial project. The first industrial was a pretty spur of the moment thing, I was in town with some friends about four weeks ago and decided I would quite like to get another piercing as (usual story) after my last one I had caught the bug. Me and my friends were just hanging round town as we usually do in the school holidays (which it was) if there is nothing better to do. I decided that I quite liked the idea of an industrial and so I went into our local piercing shop and asked how much it would be. The girl at the counter informed me it would be $30 and so I went to an ATM machine and checked if I had enough money in my account. I did so I went and got something to eat and then returned to the piercing place with one of my friends who already had his industrial done.

I'd like to take a moment to talk about my piercing place Trendz; it is the only place to get piercings other than gunned lobes in my city so there is not much choice if you want something done unless you want to travel. Luckily it is a very good place to get pierced, everything is taken from packets in front of you and the whole piercing area is really sterile looking and smelling.

Anyway back to the industrial my friend delighted in telling me repeatedly that it was an extremely painful piercing and that the jewelry insertion is twice as bad as the piercing. This made me a little nervous but I was determined to get my new piece. It was nowhere near as bad as my friend made it out to be, the piercing itself felt like two hard pinches on my ear and then I was sitting there with the balls screwed on the bar waiting for her to stick it in but it was already finished, I didn't feel the insertion at all. I went back into the shop paid the girl at the counter, admired it in the mirror for a second and then left. I must say however that I did bleed quite a bit and continued to do so for the next hour.

When I got home I was admiring my new piece of metal in the mirror and suddenly though "how cool would it look with another bar above it" this was something I hadn't seen at all before (only crossed ones which I personally don't like the look of for some reason and I didn't know whether it was possible or what but the idea stuck. That night I did a search on BME for "parallel industrials" and found a few pictures and those pictures only intensified my longing for it as it was one of the coolest looking things I had ever seen. However I decided I would try and wait at least a month so that the ear around my first one wouldn't be as tender coz I figured this time it was going to hurt.

After about three weeks I went into Trendz again and bought spikes to replace the balls on the ends of my first one. After about 3 days I realized this was a bad idea as the spikes kept catching on towels, my hair, clothes etc and irritating the piercing so I switched back to balls.

Then last Sunday (3 days ago) I was in town having had work screw up my roster and not have to work. Trendz does a special on Sundays of all piercings for $20 so I decided that my ear was not sensitive to touch anymore so I would go get my second Industrial done and complete the project, I went back to Trendz to ask if there was room above it for the second one and she said it'd be fine and could I come back in half an hour as she was having a break. So I filled in the release form and went and had a smoke and something to eat. I returned half an hour later and there was someone in being pierced so I sat down on the couch they have outside the piercing room and waited. I was nervous by this stage and couldn't wait to get it over and done with. She was finally ready and so I went in. This time it hurt, a lot. Nothing I couldn't handle but I definitely felt it. Again it bled quite a bit and the first one started bleeding too. After the piercing she informed me that the balls on the first one were a little too big and it would probably be better to change them for smaller ones, also there was a small lump on one of the inner holes on the first one which she agreed with me was probably from the irritation when I had the spikes on and that I should apply Betadine twice daily until it went away. I left and paid my money and decided to come back the next day and get smaller balls.

The next day (yesterday) I returned and purchased smaller balls and she changed them for me, she also gave it a clean for me and said that if I was ever in town and wanted it cleaned to pop in and she'd do if for free. She also mentioned that it would probably be a good idea to swap the bars as the lower was a tiny bit too short and the upper a tiny bit too long so if we swapped them they'd be perfect. She told me to give it a week and shed do this for me and also because it'll be healed a bit she wants to take a photo of it for their wall as it is the first parallel ones they have done in the shop.

I am currently being uber anal about looking after it probably to the point where it might be a bit too much and I might need to LITHA. I am using the Betadine on the lump twice a day, cleaning it with diluted tea-tree oil and using hot compresses to try and get the swelling down a bit as it is noticeably swollen. It's probably over-caution but I am really determined for this to turn out well as I have completely fallen in love with it and love how it looks and think it beautifully contrasts my ss flesh tunnel.

Well I've rambled on and on but if you are still reading then thanks a lot and if you are thinking of getting this then I highly, HIGHLY recommend you go for it, you will not be disappointed.

My parallel industrials!
