Last night, I was driving to Branson, MO to see my sister and I got the bright idea to get my tragus pierced. So I did. We showed up at Ragin Rhino Tattoos around 6:30 and I was scared to death.

I have my ears pierced and my belly button but this was different because this was cartilage and thick. I knew that if I stepped in Ragin Rhino Tattoos I was going to get it done. It was just that first step in the shop. When I walked in the girl was just as nice as she could be. She showed me pictures first to make sure that was the piercing I wanted. It was between my tragus and my rook. But I decided to go with what I wanted first. However, I will get my rook done soon.

So she took me to the front to fill out paperwork, ask for my driver's license. There was so much to fill out. She could tell I was nervous because my hand writing was horrible because I was shaking so bad. After I finished all the paperwork she went to the back to get everything set up. Then she called me back.

She first asks if I wanted it on my left or right. I chose the left because I think my left ear looks cuter. She warned me that it was going to hurt pretty bad. Then I got to thinking, I hope that it won't bleed so I ask if it was going to bleed. She said yes, it definitely was going to bleed. I ask her to not tell me if it started bleeding and she told me that I would most likely feel it go into my ear. Yuck!!! My sister was with me and she didn't want to watch or even be in the same room, but I begged her and she said that she would. She was on my right, and the piercer was on my left. My sister wouldn't watch but she was semi-there to support me. The piercer was laughing at her because she was there to support me but not in a way.

"Are you ready?" she asks. I took a deep breath in, then let is out and said "I guess that I am as ready as I'm ever going to be!".... So I laid back in the dentist looking chair. (Comfortable might I add) She showed me the needle she was going to use and it looked huge - in my eyes - which were wrapped in a little plastic sealed bag. Then she showed me the ring which was in the sealed plastic as well. In my mind I was like, that looks huge. I think I want to back out, But I didn't. She showed me the needle and the ring to assure me that it was new and clean.

Next she cleaned my ear with her hands which had cold black gloves on them. Now it was time for her to clamp my ear. She had warned me earlier that the clamp was the best way to do it but she might have to use a tube that she puts in my ear. Thank Jesus that she clamped it. It didn't hurt but it felt odd. Anyways, the clamp was put on and next thing that I knew the needle was through. It didn't hurt. It just felt like there was a lot of pressure. It was way better than I expected it to be. Then she slipped the jewelry through, put the ball in and "wa la"... it was done. I ask if it was bleeding and she said "Surprisingly, Not much at all". She even showed me the napkin that she was cleaning it with and it was just a couple of speckles of blood. "Whew, What I relief" I thought to myself.

Well, she cleaned it again which didn't feel the best. But then it was done. And out I went.

I don't like the ring all that much but I had no choice. 6 weeks from now I will be able to put the barbell in it and it will look oh so cute! I can't wait.

Today it doesn't really hurt that much. Yes, a little sore, don't get me wrong. But it's not extremely painful. I'm definitely ready for it to completely heal up so I can change the jewelry. It's a little bit red. Last night I woke up a couple of times because I would lay on it wrong but it wasn't so painful I wanted to cry or anything. Just a little sore.

Don't let anyone tell you its hurts so bad because I promise you, it's not anything but a little bit of pressure. I love mine and I do not regret it one bit.
