Thursday night, bored out of my mind, looking at body mod sites. The idea came to mind to pierce my ears, finally. I had always wanted to, but my mom wanted me to wait until I was 18, preferably not doing it at all. However, I'm deeply interested in body modification and want many more piercings that just my ear lobes, but it'd be a start. I couldn't let someone's close-mindedness stop me from decorating my body the way I wanted to. I almost didn't go through with it a couple times, but I just sucked it up and thought of how awesome it would be to be able to wear all those earrings I had always wanted to buy.
At A Glance Author brookiexblud When A week ago Artist me Studio bathroom Location california I went through my "stuff" jar, containing things such as clips, spare change, etc. I took out two safety pins, and put them into a cup of hydrogen peroxide. I then went into the kitchen and picked out the smallest potato I could find and chopped off the end. There wasn't any ice in the freezer, so I filled it up and went into the bathroom to mark were I wanted the piercings. About 30 minutes later, the ice was finished and I brought it into my bathroom along with my other supplies. I cleaned my ears, washing off the marks which I had to re-apply, and the surface of the potato.
After my left ear had been numbing for two minutes, I aligned the safety pin to the dot and held my breath, pushing the needle through. Hearing the crunch of the pin piercing all the layers of flesh made me grimace, but without any pain, the needle slipped into the potato and I pulled the vegetable away. I stared in the mirror and couldn't believe I had a safety pin sticking through my ear. I began feeling light headed so I closed it and sat down on the toilet. A minute or two later, I was ready for the next one, and went through the same procedure: two safety pins in my ears.
But I decided that wasn't enough, and decided to add a second lobe hole in my left ear. So I waited a bit for the third pin to sterilize in the hydrogen peroxide and noticed the lobe piercings weren't straight. I redid the left one again, and the right one twice to get it right and then proceeded with the second hole. This one hurt a bit more then redoing the other holes had, but it wasn't too bad and it seemed like a very small price to have three safety pins in my ears. I dumped hydrogen peroxide on them all and went to sleep. I will admit thinking about the crunching sound made it hard for me to go to sleep and tried to think of how I'd hide the pins the next morning from my eagle-eyed mom.
The next day, my friend brought some earrings to school and put them in for me, which hurt a bunch more then actually piercing them, and involved lots of more blood. I went through a bit of discomfort, especially when attempting to clean them. The left ear became very swollen compared to the right one, because I think I may have pierced it in an un-ideal place. Still, I felt so proud of myself to have the guts to pierce them, and they made me feel gorgeous, even though I know they weren't that unique. They stayed in for about 3 days. I had to take them out because of my mom seeing them and literally breaking down crying, but I convinced her to let me put them back in. Sadly, they had already started to heal and scab, and were a bit uneven anyways, so I decided to let them heal up and redo them again. I'll have to work for the second hole though, because of my mom believing they make me look like a prostitute. Hopefully her views on body modification with open up a bit, because just because she doesn't like it doesn't mean I'm not going to do it.
My future planned mods and mods I'm thinking about are: septum, monroe, at least 6mm stretched lobes, cheeks, industrials, a tattoo or two if I find a worthy subject, and maybe an implant. I might also experiment with scarring since it's easy and easily hidden if correctly placed. That new eye implant thing is pretty appealing too, but I'm hesitant since if done incorrectly, could leave me blind. I wish I could get it done in at least high school, but since neither my mom nor dad approve of it, it's unlikely unless it's self-done. I'm still young though, so I know I have plenty of time to plan it out.
Disclaimer: The way I pierced my ears was unitarily and dangerous. I wouldn't recommend piercing yourself, and going to a certified piercer. I would if I had a choice.
