A bit about me:

I live in London! And so far I've got 7 piercings: on my right ear: 3 lobe piercings and a scaffold, my tongue and on my left ear 1 lobe and my transverse lobe (my favourite) and my hair is partially pink (I think school does not approve). I like punk music and going to gigs. I hate conforming and I believe you should stick up for what you bleieve in.

I love getting piercings - strange I know -But after I got my tongue done I decided I wanted a piercing that's different from the norm and that wasn't very common and my left ear was feeling lonely as i only has a lobe piercing in it. (Like 5 people my year at school have their tongue pierced - I am incredibly annoyed by this) so I went on bme zine to find a cool piercing that I could get, and that hopefully wouldn't hurt too much.

I quickly narrowed it down to a cartilage orbital or a transverse lobe or septum (but i realised my parents would not be too pleased if I got this done). So after deliberating for not very long I decided on a transverse lobe.

The next day I went to Gypsy Nirvana in my lunch break and asked them about it. Their resident piercer (Sue) had never done one before but she's really good and I trust her She's done most of my other piercings and some of my friends have got stuff done there and it all went well for them.

I had to fill out a form which asked stuff like :'have you eaten a meal in the last 2 hours?' and 'Are you currently taking any prescirbed medication?' and 'Do you have any health conditions?' and of course you have to give them your name, address and pohne number etc.

Then I gave them my id. They joked with me that it was fake (it's a uk drivers licence) You have to be 17 to get pierced there with out parental permission.

After that I went to get a snack and a red bull so I wouldn't faint (I have low blood pressure and I faint super easily - it's actualy quite funny ! )

Then I went into the piercing room and sat on the chair which I've sat on so many times. Sue drew dots and a line on my ear where she was going to pierce it. She them showed me in a mirror and asked me if it was ok. Then she got a fresh needle and found a bar that was long enough.

The process itself didn't hurt at all (I am terrified of pain). It felt like getting a regular lobe piercing but for longer. But it did feel a bit strange - I could feel the needle going through my ear!

It didn't hurt when she put the jewellery in either.

It cost £30 - which I think is a fair price as none the piercings I have got from there have had any problems.

She told me to clean it 3 times a day - and to squeeze out the 'gunk' as it is a long piercing. But I have also been doing salt soaks - to keep it extra clean.

The next day I realised my ear was going purple and my ear was swollen. And I started to freak out. So I went back to Gypsy Nirvana so they could check it out. It turned out it was bruising and they put in a longer bar for free. and since then my ear has changed colour about 10 times!

I ear has bled quite a lot since I got it pierced though, but only when I've slept on it.So it's hardly surprising. The swelling has completly gone down and the bruising is starting to go away.

Whenever my piers notice that I've got it done they always ask me the same 2 questions: 'Do you parents mind?' - no and "omg does that thing go through you ear?" - yep.

So if you want a piercing that looks great, that is uncommon, and different, incredibly cooool and that doesn't hurt this is the one for you.

And is you live in the Surbtion area go to GYPSY NIRVANA it's a great place, with great people working there. - And students get a discount!!

At school I am starting to be known as the girl who gets piercings in her frees. I am so very very proud of myself !

Next week I think I'm going to go and get a orbital cartiliage an anti tragus or a vertical tragus !

Happy Piercing.
