The stretching of my lobes was an ill thought out venture, fortunately the piercing was able to be saved.

I was a little hesitant to get anymore piercings from the studio I usually dealt with and I had no way to get to any other studios so I decided to do it myself at home, bad idea. First I used a 16 gauge needle to pierce the lobe, I waited a few days for it to heal a little bit then stretched my ears up to a 12 gauge at my local studio, but that wasnt enough I wanted double-zero gauge tunnels and I didnt want to wait.
When I got home several days later after alot of partying my grandparents were not impressed, I didn't care it's my body and I will do with it as I please, that night after they had gone to bed I went to work gathering supplies from around the house to stretch my ears, I ended up using one of the teeth from a pick style comb a bic pen and a sharpie, these were to be the tools for my stretching and in the case of the sharpies the jewelry until I could afford to buy some tunnels. I cleaned everything with hydrogen peroxide assuming that was enough to sanitize it but I was wrong, I lubed the tooth of the comb up with vasoline to slide it through with more ease it went in after a bit of pressure and discomfort it wasnt so bad, I had gone from 12 gauge to 8 gauge. Of course double zero was my goal and I wouldnt accept less than that for the night, so right after the comb was through i was getting the pen ready to push through again pressure and discomfort but it went through easily enough, my ears were starting to feel a mild burning sensation but I wasnt worried now I was at approx. 0 gauge, still not enough for me though. Quickly i went to the kitchen to get a knife to cut the sharpie in half so i will have two to put in my ears and shove them through the sharpie didnt want to go through my ears were screaming for me to stop but I wasnt listening and after about a minute fo forceful shoving the sharpie went in and settled in place tho second one went easier than the first.
Amazingly there was no blood from going from 12 gauge to 00 gauge but the pain was incredible that night it took me 4 hours to fall asleep. The next morning I put on my favourite hoody and wore the hood up to hide my newly stretch irrated ears from my grandparents that day I went out to my friends house so I could avoid my family. My friend asked me if he could see the hole with no sharpie in it I said sure and I took the sharpie out and no sooner than it was out did it start gushing blood all over his kitchen, quickly I put the sharpie back into the hole and went to go clean the ear with hydrogen peroxide ahich at the time I didnt know was a bad idea. When I finally went home my grandparents were so angry that I had to get out of there somehow so I called my mom and got her to get me up to Tahsis, I took the bus from Naniamo to Campbell River.
When I got to Campbell River my Mom wasnt too impressed with my sharpies either she demanded that we go to the local studio Nexus and get me fixed up. When I got inside Nexus they got me in right away to fix everything up. I laid down on the bench and had the pus drained from my ears because they were so infected that apparently I could have died if I hadnt come in when I did. It took over an hour to drain all the puss and infection out and to pick off all the dead skin from me cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide. They gave me tunnels, aftercare, and told me to go see a doctor for some antibiotics.
The next few weeks I cleaned my ears religiously and used Bactroban and other anti-bacterial creams to keep infection away, and to speed healing. Sleeping was uncomfortable, the holes I had made were too big, after 4 weeks of religious cleaning and care the holes had tightened up on the tunnels, and everything had healed up nicely as it would and I was in love with my new piercing. I dont recomend doing this because it is a very bad idea.
