So on the way back home from eating a meal we were passing by my favorite piercing spot. I needed to pick up a few pieces of jewelry and I figured if the piercer was present I would go ahead and get the stretch I've been waiting to get out of the way. So we arrived and being that I was lucky, the piercer was sitting out in the parking lot talking to a few people enjoying our cooler weather. He spotted me and recognized me as he had done some earlier work for me before. So he came up and greeted me and I walked inside with him.

After walking in I explained the jewelry I needed and told him about wanting to stretch and asked if the bigger tapers were ordered in yet. He told me they did and they got some other cool stuff in. He started with helping me find the jewelry I needed along with some of the new jewelry I would need for my new stretched lobe. I walked into the back after he had sterilized the area. I talked a little about the state of some of my other piercings along with his plans for some mod work he planned to get done himself.

So he put on his gloves and unwrapped the taper and placed it on his table along with lubricant and changed his gloves again. He asked me to lie back as he put on his new gloves and asked me if I was ready. This was a fairly significant stretch as I was at 00 but my ear already could fit a 7/16 with no issue but today I was going up to 1/2. He took the taper and slipped the end into my ear and asked me to take a deep breath. Then he told me to slowly exhale as I did he pushed the taper in and in honesty it wasn't much pain just a slight burn.

So he positioned the jewelry and became ready to push it in and the tapers he had didn't hold the jewelry exceptionally well and as he pushed in the jewelry sat on the edge and slipped. He said no problem and changed gloves again and proceeded with the push again but this time the pain was a bit increased and he pushed through again and this time the jewelry sat partially in the piercing but I winced and of course the jewelry moved and he wasn't able to push it through. Needless to say this process went on a few more times I'd like to say 3 or 4 more times but I honestly lost count and the pain really sort of went down as it numbed a bit.

After the few misses he was prepared for another shot. He pushed in and I felt the jewelry begin to slide in and he was able to push it the rest of the way with a small bit of effort on his part. Finally after he managed to get the jewelry in and popped the O - ring on. Relieved and sitting a bit of disbelief I asked if it was really in before I sat up or moved a muscle. He replied telling me it was and I stood up and took a look at my ear. I was amazed how much larger it looked and very happy with how it looked, so I went and paid for everything and tipped the man for all his hard work and help.

Now don't get me wrong this is by no means a complaint just something more along the lines of even the best people aren't able to do what they are best at the first time around. Everyone has slip ups and it's really nothing to do with skill level, it's more just bad luck on my part on his that it took as many shots. He always stayed calm and helped me stay cool and calm by talking to me and joking around with me. I'm so happy with my newly stretched lobes and I don't think I would change a thing about the experience and result. It really showed me how good he was at what he did and how was very capable he was of keeping a cool head in a frustrating set of circumstances.

My ear stung a small bit after we left the piercing shop but I couldn't help but look at my newly stretched lobes all the way to our next destination. The first person who wasn't there to get to see the whole experience commented immediately on how good she thought that it looked. So I really hope for no other issues but we'll take them as they come and I'll go back to babying my ear for a little bit until I am certain it is fully healed. I don't believe I will be stretching my ears anything further from this point. But I said this before about 14g, then 10g, then 8g, then 4g, then 0g, then 00g, and now ½. So only time will tell if I really stick with this new size. Though I think I'm finally really, really content with this new size.
