When I first decided to stretch my ears I told myself I wasn't going to go very big; Now thinking about it I didn't specific what very big meant.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When It just happened I started the process of stretching my ear lobes about two years ago. I thought about stretching my lobes for awhile, but being a teenager under my parents roof didn't allow me to make certain decisions. Not to say my parents were strict by any means, but stretched ears isn't something you can conceal easily, and I could see where my parents were coming from. Eventually I decided to go against my parents suggestions. I had two pairs of 18g lobe piercings for quite sometime and after deciding to stretch them I put my 14g lip rings into my lobes; That was pretty simple. I didn't have to force them much at all and everything went well.
I had the 14g's in for about a month before I decided to try and stretch larger. I heard that you could use plastic q-tips for stretching to around an 10g and thought it was a good idea since buying jewelry isn't exactly cheap. Well I put the q-tips in, I'm not too sure what gauge they would have measured at, but they still weren't up to my liking, so I went out and purchased two steel 8g tunnels. I was convinced they were going to slide in just as easily as the others, but I was wrong. I couldn't slide them in at all, and I just ended up hurting myself trying to shove them in. A couple weeks later when I had some money I went to a tattoo/piercing shop to get my ear lobes pierced at an 8g so I could just slide in my tunnels. Of course I thought this was the size I wanted for sure and definitely didn't want to go any bigger. I was bummed to find out that they only pierced at a 10g and that I'd have to buy more jewelery from the shop since my 8's would be too big. I purchased the 10g jewelery, she pierced my l obes and I was on my way. After a month I put my 8g's in with no problem.
2 weeks or so goes by and I realize that 8's just aren't big enough. They just didn't stand out, they weren't bold, they didn't catch my eye. My only option; Go Bigger!
I bought 4g spirals and put those in. I figured since I was going size by size and not having much trouble I could definitely skip a size without putting too much stress on my lobes. 4's when in just fine, and did the same with 2's. Now this is when it got painful. 2 to a 0 was just a ridiculous stretch, I didn't know that the difference in sizes grew so drastically. I couldn't put in the 0g's without making my ears feel like they were ripping so I attempted the electrical tape idea. For the core of it I use a plastic q-tip stick, and then just wrapped layer upon layer of electrical tape until finally my ears were about a 0g. This took about 3-4 weeks although it could have been done faster. I haven't been in any rush to stretch my ears for fear of my lobes looking like cat's assholes. *. You know what I mean... Anyway!
I went about 9months+ with my 0g spirals in. I liked them a lot and received plenty of comments on them, even from conservative old ladies. However yesterday, once again I was done with my average joe size 0... so I bought 00g tapers. Like with the 2 to 0, the size difference is large, so I made sure to do as much prepping as I could for my next stretch. I was only able to slide the tapers in 3/4 of the way in so I left them that way and took a hot shower, focusing the heat on my lobes to make them more supple and stretchy. I worked a little soap into the tapers to help slide them in easier and to clean my holes from before. Since the o rings wouldn't fit on the tapes because of how far I was able to put them in, I used small rubber bands to keep them secure on the backside so they wouldn't slide out. I slept with those in for one night and wore them like that for the majority of the next day. Then, to my surprise, I put a little aquaphor on the tapers and twisted them until my lobes stretched more and the y tapers slid completely through. They've been in for about 8 hours now and they're still swollen and pink however they seem to be healing just fine. They've hurt, and have been sore but it'll definitely be worth it; Anyone who says it doesn't hurt to stretch is lying. My only advice be patient, otherwise the process isn't worth it.
