My entire life I've been fascinated by the world of body art and modification. My life really took a turn for the better when I got an apprenticeship at a decent shop in my city. The piercer that I was apprenticing under packed up and left one day (long sad story), anyways, luckily i knew enough already to do most piercings i would never do anything that i hadn't been trained for ex.prince alberts. BME saved my life, not to mention opened my eyes to ear streching and scallpelling. My ears had been strectched for approximately 3 years before the procedure, right ear being at 12mm and the left being at 16mm. It really was frustrating, I hated being so uneven, it threw my entire face off kilter! I knew I had to get my ears cut one day, the right ear was terribly scarred from years of forced stretches and blowouts anyways I couldn't seem to stretch it on my own anymore. my left ear was getting bigger though every week, I wouldn't even do anything to it, it would simply sag more and more on it's own.

Naturally I wanted to see a well known artist near my city, I heard only good things from Bushido Tattoo in Calgary.

Jake was the piercer that caught my attention. After visiting the shop a few times and studying his portfolio I knew it was time. I called the shop on the friday any made an appointment for the sunday. I was so nervous the entire weekend, and i usally never get nervous before procedures, however this one made me think.

The car ride to Bushido was long I was really anxious, I must have had like 5 smokes, I was F**king scarred, I knew I just had to get myself back in to the zone. (I usually just have to get really quiet, and focus on myself and become more aware of my body and think about personal reasons why im doing this and understand with myself whats coming out of it)it'a important to know what your getting out of a modification, and why your doing it what ever your reasons may be.

Jake was really cool, as usual. He had such a great vibe about him, it really took the edge off a bit. he said my left ear was really thinning at the bottom, it worried me a bit but I knew he knew what was best. I didn't really take a look at the markings he did on my ears but i trusted him. my boyfriend kept poking his head in through the curtain (he looked so disgusted).

I thought I would be lying down but he said it was better to be in my natural position, sitting up (which made sense)Jake started to cut my left ear. I was so calm, it was unreal. I can't even believe I was so nervous before, man it was great. I could feel him sawing at my lobe it was wicked feeling he placed my little triangles of flesh on the tray...I could hear the scallpel against the jewelry when he was trimming around the ear, it was a pretty sweet sound... I briefly looked up at my boyfriend, he had a terrified look on his face, it must of been strange for him..being that I had a huge smile on my face the entire time!

two of my other friends left the room, I suspected it was too much for them. (Im sure it looked painful). He was done in minutes.. I could feel the weight of the tunnels in my ears 7/8 was the final size..I was going to go to 1 inch but I didn't really want my 'journey' to be over yet.

I can't even express how I felt. They were beautiful. exactly how I wanted them. I knew they would look sweet with wooden plugs. Jake and I talked for a bit in his room, he went over aftercare with me (most was a repeat for me, since I did my research) but it was nice that he was so in depth about cleaning and such. He gave me like a wicked deal, so I made sure to tip generously! it's been like 3 weeks since i got them done and they've been great, the bleeding was intresting for the first 2 days,it was fun cleaning the huge crusts of blood off of my lobes, and they didn't even hurt. Ive had to het used to the reactions of people..just the constant sticking of fingers through my tunnels and answer the same questions over. I've already bought like 5 pairs of jewelry for them but their still a but raw and tender to be switching jewelry.....but man Im pumped for the pyrex!

I kept my little ear bits...grossed some people out and then ate them for dinner....haha just kidding maybe next time...

Over all I loved the experience and I recommend it if your having trouble stretching! just do your research and make sure your ready for such a leap!!!
