So it all begins about a year and a half ago, when I first found BME...

Around this time I had newly pierced second hoes, done at Claire's (oh, how I wish I knew better). Two holes was simply not enough though, so I began begging my mother to let me have a third hole in my ear lobes. Despite my persistence, she said no again, and again. I seriously thought about doing it myself a few times, but chickened out at the thought of infection.

Now, fast-forward to last week. We are leaving Target, and I decided to ask yet again for another body mod. To my great surprise, she finally said yes. I was overjoyed! A year and a half of begging and badgering, and it finally payed off! So now all I had to do was ask my dad, and luckily he didn't care. So now there was the task of finding a good place.

After having my first two holes gunned (once at Piercing Pagoda, and then once at Claire's), and having hair pierced into my second ones. I knew I wasn't going to do it again. A friend of mine had also had her ears gunned, and it turned out pretty badly. After doing my fair share of research, I had it down to two places, but I went with Lone Wolf, because it was closest.

Last Saturday, we went into Lone Wolf to get it done. However they needed my birth certificate, and we didn't have it. Great, more waiting for me. So we got my birth certificate, and went back on Monday, but they were closed for the day. By this time, I could barely wait any longer. I mean, I had already been let down once, how did they expect me to wait for more time? I was determined to get them done within a week though, so I decided that I was going to go today NO MATTER WHAT, so we went today right after my guitar lesson.

We walked in and the piercer was standing at the counter. She had us fill out the paper work and stuff, and inspected my birth certificate and my mom's ID. Then she want back to prepare the equipment and stuff, which probably took five minutes or so to do. It seemed like forever though. I mean, I just wanted to get to the piercing!

Then she took be back into her office sort of thing, and explained to me what everything was. She opened all the equipment, like the clamps, whatever they use to open the rings, the needles, and the jewelry. She marked one ear, and told me to go check and see if I liked the placement, and I did. First she cleaned my ear. Then she marked my ear, and proceeded to do the other one. Then she told me to lay back, and she placed the clamp on my ear (which was the worst part). She had me take a couple of breath and then on about the third exhale, she shoved the needle through my ear. It hurt more than I thought it would, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. It was actually fairly painless, like someone pinching you pretty hard. When it was what seemed like three quarters of the way in, there was a distinct popping noise, which was really kind of neat. She took off the clamp, and I could just imagine what the needle looked like half way through my ear. Then she corked the needle, as not to poke me or her. She took the needle out and fed the ring through the hole along with it, and put the bead onto it. The right ear went basically the same, except for a little bleeding, just because she did it last. In went the needle, with the same popping noise, the jewelry went in and the bead went on. She was very good about not yanking on the ring too much, because I barely felt it.

She told me I could go on out of the room, and go back to the front of the store. I called my mom to come pay (because she was at a resturant in the same plaza)and she was there in a couple of minutes. Rachel went over the aftercare procedures with me. She told me to clean them twice a day for six weeks with saline solution, and once a day after that. Then she told me not to touch them with dirty hands, because 90% of infections come from touching them with dirty hands. Then we left to go home.

Overall, it was a great experience and I 'd do it again in a second. I'm really happy that I did it at a piercing studio instead of Claire's. I now have (what I think are) 16g CBR's , that are like a half an inch in diameter, in my ears. I'm going to keep the earrings in my second hole out for a couple of days though, so that I don't bother the new ones trying to take the second holes out. I hope you've liked my piercing experience, and because I've been looking for an excuse to put a story on here. :]

Good luck, and happy piercing.
