To start this off, heres a little bit about me - I am seventeen years old and have a deep love for body modifications. I have a shooting star scarification on my upper arm ( very faint, self done - do not attempt ), seventeen piercings and getting a tattoo in a month or so. I also plan on going into piercing as a career next year as well as photography and interior design. I have been into body modifications as long as I can remember. To me theres no pain in body mods, just a beautiful result - a permanent piece of art work.

I have been wanting to get some more piercings after getting my conches done in February and April of this year. I am not allowed to get facial piercings due to my father, until I am eighteen. I really wanted my septum and my vertical labret redone but of course that was out of the question with my father. So, that means I am pretty much stuck with my ears and I still have to hide them ( he still thinks I only have about six piercings all on my lobes ) ... my friend already has her anti-tragus so I decided against that because I wanted something different for now. I kept coming on BMEzine and looking at all the pictures of piercings on the ears to decide on one and decided. At first I wasn't sure if I want my daith? my rook? my tragus? another conch? anti-tragus? I finally did decide on one one night though. I liked the look of the rook but I also like the tragus as well, which I had done about 3 years ago but it rejected due to bad piercing job. The guy came in half asleep last time - so otherwise, if your piercer comes to your appointment late and tired ... run out of there fast and do not turn back.

I had made up my mind on my right rook and right tragus because my left conch was healed enough to sleep on. I went into Daddy O's a week or so later to check on prices and such. Shave told me he could give me a deal and only charge me $60 instead of the normal $80 since I was getting two done at once.

I came back the following week to go through with it. I talked with Shane about what ear I wanted the two on and the cost and filled out the papers that I have about five times now. He went and set everything up while I messed around and looked in the jewelry cases. He called me back and I sat up in the all too familiar chair while he got out new needles and jewelry. He cleaned my ear and used a Sharpie to place dots for the placement of the piercings. I agreed on the placement and we got started.

He decided to do my tragus first. It was two breath in and breath outs and it was done. No pain at all besides the clamps. Getting the tiny ball in was a pain for him though. He cleaned the area and showed it to me in the mirror. We were onto the rook by now.

The rook took about the same time but the ball went on much easier this time. He cleaned that up and asked me how I liked it and I loved it - a rook, tragus, conch and six other on my ear ... perfect. We chatted for awhile about me coming back when I turn eighteen and possibly apprenticing under him and maybe taking over his spot and about Invader Zim, oddly enough.

I also had him change my hoop on my conch to a barbell due to discomfort with laying on it. It took him about two minutes to go get a new barbell and switch them out.

I paid him, my friend bought a retainer for her anti-tragus, my mom bought sea salt spray and we were off.

I have two new piercings that I love, a new barbell and a new ring ( used my conch ring as a pinky ring ).

So, if you're in the Centralia area - go see Shane at Daddy O's.

Personally, I did not think my rook nor my tragus hurt at all. My tragus is sore after sleeping on it a night though. I do plan on going back after I can sleep on my right side to get my other rook and tragus done. I also plan on going back to Shane for both of my daiths and anti-traguses sometime throughout the school year. When I turn eighteen I plan on getting my septum, vertical labret, tongue, nape and my nipples.
