I got my ears pierced when I was seven with a gun and never even thought about stretching my ears. I liked the look of them but I never thought it was for me until quite recently.
At A Glance Author Char Contact Char@bme.anon When It just happened Well a few months ago my friend and me decided that we wanted expanders. I hadn't bothered to ask my mam but she asked hers but she said she couldn't have anything that would stretch her ear piercing.
We didn't know what we were doing but we just went into Kathmandu one day and asked for one of the smallest expanders we could see and we didn't even know what the size was! So we both ended up with one of those darkside swirls ... I think that it was about a 2mm.
That night we went back to my house for a sleepover and we decided to put them through there and then. There was a bit of resistance but it was fine. I never thought of using Vaseline or even cleaning them beforehand. So we kept them in for a few weeks but then mine snapped. I wasn't very happy about that. It was expensive!!
I waited a while and soon my piercing was back to 1mm. Son afterwards I went into town again and got a pink 3mm expander. I loved the marble effect it had! I'm very impatient so again without cleaning it or anything I just tried to force it through my ear. It hurt like hell. Eventually when I had given up I got my friend to force it through. It stung all day afterwards. My parents didn't really mind either although I hadn't asked them about stretching my ears first.
My 5mm was definitely the most painful. I bought it the weekend after I had put my 3mm through. I guess I should have waited longer. Well, it was a green UV one and my friends and me thought it looked really cool but once I had bought it I realised that it was a bit bigger than I had intended. I had some Vaseline in my pocket at the time so I just sat with my friends and I smothered Vaseline on my ear and on the expander. I started to push it through but it got really hard once I got it about halfway through. Everyone just kept saying that it was nearly through so I kept pushing and it eventually popped through. This time my ear was really nasty afterwards. It had a lot of crustiness around it and it swelled up really badly. It burned all day. Also, that night it slid out because I didn't have the O rings pushed up far enough. It just bled as soon as it came out and didn't stop for ages. I couldn't sleep on it that night.
The next day I forgot that I had my expander in and I put my hair behind my ear. I had been told that I wasn't allowed a bigger one and when my mam saw she went ape. Her and my dad tried to get me to take it out but I refused. I got shouted at a lot and I began to wish that I hadn't got it done. After a while they gave in and said I could keep it but if I got a bigger one again that they would cancel my holiday =[[. I soon got bored of my UV expander though and I thought I would try my luck and ask my dad if he would order an iKon plug for me off the Internet if I paid for it. I got a black plug with a red star on it. But these plugs only started at a 6mm. So I thought that I could fool my parents into thinking that my 5mm expander was a 6mm one so that was I could expand my piercing one more mm without them noticing and that way I would have a lot more choice of jewellery. I was desperate for a plug or a flesh tunnel. However, when I told my dad that I needed a 6mm plug he was so angry. He didn't know it was that big. He thought it was only a 4mm or something. But he still ordered it for me =]].
When it arrived I tried to put it through but soon realised that it would be impossible to get a 6mm plug with the flared end through my 5mm piercing. I had read on the internet about people putting more than one expander in their piercing at one time so that they could stretch their ears an extra gauge or too. I soon got frustrated trying to get my plug through so I put my 5mm, 3mm and 2mm expanders through at the same time. I used ice and Vaseline but it hurt so much I was nearly in tears. I took a warm bath and soaked my ear thinking that it would make it better but it didn't. I went to bed that night but I couldn't sleep because it had swelled up so much. So in the early hours of the morning I ended up getting up and taking my 3mm and 2mm out and just leaving my 5mm there. It was still sore for a while but in a few days it was fine.
I waited about three weeks then yesterday I had the urge to stretch again. So I bought a 6mm expander making sure it was the same colour as my 5mm one so that my parents wouldn't notice. I expected a little bit of pain but this time there was absolutely nothing. I had cleaned it thoroughly with surgical spirit beforehand and they coated it in Vaseline. I wasn't expecting it to hurt too much since I was only going up 1mm. I pushed it through and I actually thought that I had mistaken my new expander for my old one because it slid straight through and I couldn't feel a thing. It hasn't bled or anything since and now I'm just hoping that my parents won't notice
and that once it has healed I should be able to get my plug through.
I get a lot of attention at school from it. Some people think its cool but most people find it disgusting and they associate it with people from foreign countries but I don't care because I love my new stretched lobes and I hope that when I'm older I can get an 8mm or perhaps bigger. I can't wait to show off my newest stretch at school tomorrow =]].
