Today was an exciting day. My boyfriend Josh and I went to our local tattoo shop, Evolution, to visit our friend Jake who just started an apprenticeship there. I knew we were going to go visit him for a few days and I knew I just had to get something pierced. I have visited the shops on several occasions prior to today and all those times I was unable to get something pierced. This time I had the time and the money and wanted a new piercing. (I actually got two piercing and a jewelry change done today, this experience is about the second piercing.)

My project was going to start from the top of my right ear and go all the way down to the bottom.
We arrived at the shop and chatted with Jeremy and Jake for a while then I asked Jeremy if he could change my Industrial from CBR to a regular straight barbell and he said sure and lead me to the back room. He changed my piercing and while he did that we chatted about what I wanted and me wanting to get a piercing. He suggested I wait on the other Industrial since I just changed mine to a barbell and my ear had to be reshaped a little.
I was disappointed because I was looking forward to getting a more unusual piercing than lobe, but I said I would settle for another lobe piercing. He set up everything and pierced my lobe. I went and checked it out in the mirror and realized he pierced it next to my regular lobe. He had put a few purple dots on my ear to show me I could get two in between instead of one. I had wanted him to pierce me next to my cartilage so I could decide later on if I wanted 8. My original project was just 7 down my ear, because 7 is my favorite number and holds meaning to me. However, I could not leave my ear with 5 down it then a big gap and 2 more. Here is a picture of my two new additions. The one with the visible purple dot is the first one and the one with blood around it is the one I am about to describe:

I asked Jeremy if he could pierce the other one, I had just enough money to get it done and I did not like how it looked without it. I figured if I did not like it or still wanted 7 I could take out the first one he did later on.
Anyways, Jeremy and me had been talking the whole time during the first one and while he prepped the second one to be pierced, but for some reason as he rose up the needle we stopped talking. He told me to take a deep breath and shoved the needle in. I do not know what it was, but the piercing hurt a lot. I felt the needle go in and felt a sharp pain shoot through my ear. Given, it did not hurt as much as a cartilage; it hurt pretty bad and a lot worse than my first one. Jeremy hit my top cartilage while moving the needle all the way in and that hurt to. My top cartilage was sore from one hitting it in the shower and two Jeremy hitting it earlier while piercing the first lobe.
After the needle was in, I let out my breath and telling Jeremy how bad it hurt. He was extra careful putting the jewelry in. My ear was really sore and the jewelry going in felt like a big pressure and my ear was throbbing. After the jewelry was in, Jeremy popped the ball on with ease. He held the ring while he put the ball on and was very careful and I did not even feel this part. After the ball was on I let out a sigh of relief.
He let me know after he was done that I was bleeding a lot. It took him 10 q-tips with special solution on them to clean me up. I had it all over my neck. It was no big deal; Jeremy was cool about it and just cleaned me up. After I was cleaned up, I walked over to the mirror and checked myself out and fell in love. All my doubts of having 8 and not 7 disappeared I loved what I saw. Jeremy kept complimenting me and wanted to get a picture. He did most of my project except two that Dave, the owner of Evolution, did.
After Jeremy got done cleaning we went out front and he had to answer the phone and I waited until he was done to pay. I gave him a nice tip and went to ask Josh what it looked like. Josh loved it, Jake did not get a chance to see it until a few hours after that since he was busy but he loves it to.
So far, I have cleaned it once and it took about 20 minutes to get it to stop bleeding and get all the dried blood off. It stung a lot to clean it but it is starting to feel a little better. It's still throbbing and I have to take some Aspirin to ease the pain. It looks great though and I know in the morning it will fee a lot better.
My love is pretty and I love my project. If you have any suggestions, comments or questions feel free to email me and Happy Piercing!
