When A year ago
So this all started around a year and 6 months ago. My current girlfriend came back from hopping freights and she had gorgeous stretched out ears. They were only at double zero but she knew she wanted more, I never thought I would be able to stretch mine out because I had a scar on my right lobe that ran the width of it, so I figured I'de just get mine pierced at a 12 and get some cool looking ear rings at that size and be done with it. We went to a local shop in northern Indiana to get it done for an early christmas present. When the guy who was doing the piercing looked at my lobes he asked if I planned on stretching them out, I told him I did'nt think I would be able to considering the scar I had on the right lobe. He looked it over and told me that I should'nt have any problems with stretching them, so I told him yes more than likely I would only stretch up to a double zero. The piercing went well, it did'nt hurt at all and the placement at the time looked perfect.

A couple of months went by and I decided it was time to start stretching them out. My first mistake was not doing any research on how to properly stretch out ears. I went from a 12 gauge to an 8 right away, it's not a big jump but in hind-sight I should have went to a 10 then an 8. From there on out it was all bad decision making and impatience. I stretched my lobes probably every other week. I figured hey if they are'nt sore and it does'nt hurt all that bad they should be fine right?

Well in under a year I got all the way to 3/4 mostly doing the shove method after I got to double zero. The other shop I went to to get tattoos done only had tapers up to 00 and they said "after that your on your own". Probably when I got to 5/8 I started noticing that part of my right lobe was exetremely thinned out and looked kind of haggered, I did'nt think much of it and I ordered some 3/4 plugs. After I got them in the mail I tryed putting them in in the shower a couple of times and they would'nt go so I just gave up. I had a nice pair of steel tunnels so when I went to bed at night I would hook some padlocks up to them to help stretch them out overnight. I decided to try to get the 3/4 in one day when I was in the shower, I pushed the left one through fine but the right one was being a bitch so I just kept pushing and after a few minutes and a decent amount of pain it popped through. I noticed about a half hour after that my lobe was so swollen that the o-rings were being pushed off.

After about 2 weeks of having the 3/4 in i took them out to look at my right lobe and saw that I split the lobe around it in a half circle, I figured as long as I kept it clean it would heal up fine.

I moved to down south last october and have been getting work done at a shop down here. I had them scalpel my lobes to 1 inch in december. Every thing was fine for awhile besides how thinned out my right lobe was. About a month ago the girl who has done most of my work looked at my right lobe and told me " if that thing does'nt split within a month it's going to die this winter". She told me I should just take out the plug and let it shrink back down to see if it would gain any girth back, it did'nt. I almost took out both my plugs to let them shrink back down but after considering what I've been through and how much I love the look of my ears being stretched out I decided against it.

I currently have an appointment with a plastic surgeon to have my right lobe cut apart and sewn back together. I'm hoping all goes well so I can get him back out to at least 3/4 and then I plan on scalpeling (permitting my lobe heals good enough) up to an inch and a half.

Hopefully this information helps anyone thinking of stretching their ears really really fast and not using tapers or proper jewelry to reconsider doing it, I've been through alot of shit because of my impatience and lack of knowledge. If I would have known about bme or the other bodymodification resources I would have taken my time and done it right.
