My friend Jake recently started apprenticing at a local tattoo shop called Evolution. I am friends with another piercing guy, Jeremy there. My boyfriend Josh and I decided to pay Jake and Jeremy a visit today. The first thing that came into my mind was I want a new piercing of some sort. The last two times we went to Evolution I ended up getting nothing done and was feeling the need to get something pierced.

I was torn between a second Industrial on my left side or some more lobes piercing on my right to complete that project. My project was a row of CBR rings from the top of my ear all the way down. It would be simple but very neat.
I still had not decided by the time Josh got done, but I figured I would make up my mind when I got there. I grabbed my Industrial bar to have Jeremy change and we were off.
I actually did not decide what I wanted until after we were in the shop. We got to the shop and talked to Jake and Jeremy and then Jeremy led me to the back room to change my Industrial from CBR to the actual straight bar. Jeremy and I chatted about what I wanted to get pierced while he was changing my jewelry.
I decided to get one lobe piercing under my other 5 cartilage to add to my project. Jeremy is awesome and changed his gloves again and cleaned my ears off. Then he throws away the towel and changed his gloves a third time and set up to pierce me. He is really sanitary and we started talking about that.
He set up the needles and the jewelry. He was going to do my ear at a 14 gauge like all the rest, he said typically they were supposed to do it at a 16 gauge but it looked better at 14 gauge. While he was setting up and picking up the needle we talked and talked about him moving, about jewelry, about apprenticing, about Josh, and about Jake starting his job there. Jeremy pulled the needle close to me and told me to take a deep breath in and I did. I was so busy talking that I barely felt the needle slid in my ear.
It stung a little, but it barely hurt. The most pain I felt was from the pressure of Jeremy touching my top ring when sticking in the needle to make sure it was straight. My top hole has been sore and that hurt a little, but the piercing itself was a piece of cake.
I can honestly say that I never even noticed he put the CBR in. When I thought he was going to pick it up and put it in, he was really picking up the ball to snap it in. The ball was a lot easier to get in than previous times in the shop. He got it on the first try and it popped right in. I thought wow that was easy and thanked him with a grin on my face.
I looked in the mirror when he was done and noticed he put it closer to my lobe than the rest of the cartilage and in between that was space to put another. He told me he marked it so when I wanted to get another done it would be even. I had wanted him to put it under the cartilage but not wanting to hurt his feelings, because it was my fault I had not been clear, I told him I would just get the other one today to.
He pierced my other one and I went out front. The phone rang and Jeremy had to answer it, so I started to fill out the forms. Since I was already in the back and I was pretty good friends with Jeremy he said I could fill out the forms when I got done even though I offered to go do it right away. Anyways, filled them out, and when he got off the phone he copied everything and I paid him.
I hung around the shop for awhile talking. Even though I got two and only wanted one I got a look in the mirror and feel in love with it. My ear project is now complete.
I just got it done not to long ago but I have been lots of compliments about it already and Jeremy wanted to take a picture of it. He made sure to give me a cleaning sheet even though I already have a dozen. Basically I need to clean it with Dial twice a day and use Sea Salt soaks on it. It will not really be a hassle for me, since I already have 6 piercing on that ear.
Well, I had a pleasant experience today. If you have any questions feel free to email me and Happy Piercing!
