I've really liked piercing, and I even went up to Anchorage to the Hole Look...but you have to be 15 to get your inner conch, eyebrow, or nose. I really didn't want to spend the money to get my ears done there because I figured I could just do it by myself at home. My parents went up to Anchorage and left me home with Aaron to watch me. Aaron is 18, and my sisters boyfriend...my sister is in Canada for her graduation trip. Aaron is "emo" or so he thinks, he's in a band...plays the guitar and sings.
At A Glance Author *Bob* Contact bobbizulz92@hotmail.com When A week ago Artist Myself Studio At my house Location VDZ, AK I was like I'm going to pierce my ear. I've read a lot of infection and tips for piercing. I grabbed a camera so that I could get some pictures for my parents to see and myspace, and went then I headed upstairs to my parents bedroom. I opened my parents cabinet and grabbed the rubbing achol. I walked over to my dads dressed and took out his sewing kit. There were many needles to choose from, but none of them were bigger just shorter or longer. I went back to the mirror and marked the spot with a blue pen that I wanted to pierce. I picked a third hole on the bottom of my left ear, I have the top of my left done, so it just looked better. I didn't use ice, or anything like that...ice takes to much time and doesn't really numb me, plus I used to cut, so I'm used to pain. I slowly pushed the needle threw. It was hard to push it threw because the needle was slippery from my hands sweating and there was nothing to hold onto.
Many times I thought about giving up, but its either half way threw or half way out...so I decided to go for it. The needle was small, so it was hard to push it threw. I only had a few layers on to tear threw, but as hard as I tried the needle wouldn't go threw. I grabbed a doll from off my mom's dressed and put it on the back of my ear. That didn't work, so I took a plastic container that was on the toilet, I believe it was like a Body Shop body butter contain...I pushed, and pop...it was threw, but only the tip. I kept pushing till the needle was half way threw. It didn't even hurt, which was very very surprising. I left the needle in for a few minutes then went down stairs.
I told Aaron that I had just pierced my ear, he told me I was crazy. I went to my bathroom to select an ear ring. I have sensitve ears so I picked my jade and gold star ear ring. I tried to push the needle out but it wasn't coming out, so I pulled it out threw the back. There was no way the ear ring was going to fit in the small needle hole, I tried but it was a failed attempt. I used a tack to stretch the hole half way. Then I just shoved the ear ring in, I tried to find the hole I'd just made. I kind of found a hole, so I just pushed. No tears, a little pain...but like a quick pinch. It was in. I stared at it, because I'm not a girl that just goes out and does things like this....I mean yes I drink and smoke sometimes, but I don't pierce myself when ever and where ever.
I used rubbing alchol to clean the wound. Its been two days since I pierced it, and my ear is swollen and hurts very bad. I took it out for a day because I honestly wanted it to heal, it hurt so bad. Its not infected, it just hurts. I switched the ear ring to a dimond gold ear ring, that made it even worse. Now I'm back in the green ear ring. I haven't been touching it, at all...unless to clean it which I do everytime I go in the bathroom. Its still swollen but I hope it will go down, I knew there would be pros and cons to my action. I'm trying to keep it as clean as possible and keep my hair up and out of the ear ring. I can't sleep on that side right now. I kind of wish I would of went to a parlor, but I saved myself 25-70 dollars, plus the places to get piercing in my small town only use a gun. I thought I'd practice with a needle because most body piercings are done with a needle, not a quick gun.
If I could go back I would use a bigger needle...and not play around with the ear ring. My parents got home and were a little mad that I didn't get it done by a pro, but there over it now.
I get my nose pierced after volleyball season in December, and my eyebrow in May after I finish 9th grade. My parents said no tongues and no bellybuttons...and I'm fine with that. Have fun piercing, but be careful and keep it clean.
