I have been wanting to have my ears punched for about two years now. The first guy I asked had done several other piercings for me and I felt comfortable with him. After setting it up over the course of a year he backed out at the last minute, which was totally cool because I really didn't want him to feel uncomfortable doing any procedure on me, so I looked elsewhere.

Then I happened upon a shop "Flaming Dragon Tattoos." Talked to their Piercer- Chris, and told him what I wanted done and he was very knowledgeable and interested in helping me out.

Due to the course of life- it got to be a tag team of schedules, so we had several exchanges over a nine month period and went over the details like measurements and supplies like stop bleed, etc. I had been disappointed, but have the feeling everything happens for a reason.

In the mean time, I continued to research and practice my breathing in anticipation of that moment, but mostly I would look at my own ears and envisioned the jewelery being there. I noticed that I found myself intrigued by other peoples ears and the shape and textures.

I finally got a chance to set up another appointment. It was a long week! When Monday morning finally came I was well prepped! I had been eating alot of fresh fruits and veggies and drank plenty of Gatorade to keep up the electrolytes, and most important, I had plenty of sea salt and Q-tips on hand!

With my Sister-In-Law in tow we headed to the shop, camera ready. I had the 8.0 punches and the stop bleed- thankfully I brought ear plugs, the gel kind (although, I should have used more in one ear because after all the blood poured in my ear, it started to break down and Chris had to use the hemostats to get it out.) I made sure to bring a snack some aleve ,juicy fruit and more gatorade.

When we got there, Chris took a look at everything I brought, just to make sure that it was even possible (WAY cool- double check to double check!) When he came back with the clip board I was ECSTATIC! It was finally here! I then gave him the shirt I bought just for this special occasion. I knew that I would probably bleed alot and I didn't want to fuck up his clothes so I got online and ordered the "In case of emergency, use this bandage as a shirt." You can find it @BME shop- It's great because it is bright blood red! you can bleed all over it and no-one would know!

We go to the back (the back is just as cool as the front- the whole place has an awesome flow to it!) and again, Chris takes another look to make sure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible.

He told me to begin my breathing amd when the first punch started going through I pulled in the pain and breathed it out, like a wave. Never did I try to push against it, but breathed it in and let it flow out of me. I know it sounds corny and shit, but even though he had to really "dig in his heels" to get the first punch through, all I could think of later was "that was not half as bad as I thought it would be!" There was alot of blood though, and it ended up running down my face! Thankfully, my Sister-In-Law had no problem with all the blood and Chris was considerate enough to worry about the both of us. He let her know where the chair was and asked if she is ok with the sight of blood and all that. She did a great job taking photos and video!

The second punch went quite quickly! I didn't even notice when he tapered up to the 8.2 for the jewelery to fit or even when he had to do a little "scalpeling" of the excess skin on the back of my ears. The endorphins in my body took care of that. It was pretty funny when he asked if I'd like him to re-do them- I came back with a "Ahhhhhhhhh, that's ok!" He said "Good, I finally got a whimper out of you :)"

All and all- it was the most AWESOME experience I've had with my mods to date. I think that having had the patience, the desire and finding an Artist that has the same patience and desire when it comes to their own modifications, made the day truly unforgetable! And I have the kick ass photos to remember it by.

They fit so perfectly it was like my ears weren't complete with out them- Oh yeah- and healing always sucks! SEA SALT!!!!! One can never truly have enough!
