It all started when I was on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland when I was about 10 years old. As a friend and I were walking down the boardwalk I saw a piercing shop, and at the time I had been debating getting my left lobe pierced. With the permission of my parents, I got my left gauge pierced with a gun by an old Chinese lady who barely spoke English. The piercing healed quickly and I was happy. After time passed I became very interested in stretched lobes and wanted to get one. I begged my parents to buy me a bigger piercing, and after a long time they gave in, and bought me a 16 g CBR. At that time I was very happy, but quickly wanted to go bigger. I got a 14g CBR, then a 12g CBR, and stayed at 12g for about 6 months. As I grew bored with the 12g, my parents told me not to go any bigger, but I had too. I got a black 10g CBR, that I thought looked really cool at the time. I put it in, and somehow my mom found out it was larger than the 12g and I was made to take it out. I was pretty young so I did not argue, I took it out and put the 12g back in.

The hole closed mostly, but I could still put a 16g back in easily if I wanted to. I went into a local CD/Piercing shop with some friends and there was a sale on piercing, so I found a cheap acrylic curved bar and bought it. I put it in for a little but lost it shortly after and the hole closed again.
About 1 month later I became very interested with large gauge piercing again, because one of my friends had 00g's and I thought they looked really good. I felt I had to re-pierce and go large, because I liked the look of larger gauge plugs. I went back to the local shop while I was on my break at work, and bought a 14g, and later that night I cleaned my ear and slid them in very easily. After I got more money, I went back to the piercing shop and bought 10g plugs and put one in my left ear with ease, then about 2 weeks later I bought 8g black plugs and slid one into my right ear. I bought 2 Silicon 4g's and tried to put them into my ear, but had a pretty rough time, I was stupid and used a twisted up straw for a taper and Neosporin as lubricant, after some bleeding and a lot of redness, I highly recommend putting the money towards a taper instead of using homemade tools. I got the piercing in. After that piercing healed for about 1 month, I bought a 2g black plug and a pair of 0g striped plugs. I put the 2g in and was very happy.
I felt pretty stupid with only 1 ear gauged to a 2g, so I was going to spend some time on my right ear. I cleaned my ear thoroughly and pierced it with a large safety pin, because I was stupid and didn't want to wait for the money to get professionally pierced. I put the 14g titanium plug I had used on my left ear. Then went to 10g red plugs, let that heal and then went to a 8g black plug but had that fall out of my ear while crowd surfing at a concert. So I had to force a different 8g in. I was a little hesitant to make the 8 to 4g jump again but this time it was easier because I used more lubricant and a better taper. That healed at a normal rate and then I put a 2g in and was very happy that my ears were at the same size. I finally put the 0g in with a small amount of difficulty, and now I am happy where I am.
I don't have any real regrets, but I am thinking about taking out my left ear just to see how small they get after about 2 weeks, because when I look for answers all I get is " It depends on you!" I am wanting to go larger but I don't know if I want to because of the consequences later in life, but I live for now so the chances are very high that I will go larger, but it's all just a question of when. I like the look of the my piercings, I don't know why, maybe its because not a lot of people have them, but I also want to get a horizontal lip piercing. But you just have to watch with your piercings, because they DEFINETLY can become addicting, and you just have to know when to say no.
