So for continuing my ear projects I decided that my right ear shall be blessed with a daith ring. It also has a snug and 2 lobe piercings stretched to a 12 g right now [getting to zero].
At A Glance Author Ghost Tiger Contact ghsttigrriseftw@aol.com When It just happened Artist JOE Studio evolution body piercing Location Providence, RI It was this past wednesday and my boyfriend and I decided to head to Evolution Body Piercing on Weybosset st. in Providence, R.I.;
We had some trouble with parking though because the studio does not have a lot, you have to park off street, or give an arm and a leg to park in a garage, and i'm not into that kind of body modification.
Besides, we needed that loot for the piercer's tip!
Finally a spot, yippie! So we had to walk like 5 blocks, if it was nice out it would've been fine, but the whether has been sucking forever right now. Rain, Rain, Rain, and wind. Plus the people in cars are not so nice about letting you cross the street on a green light! We made it down to the studio still alive and itching for some needles to be shoved through us, when we came across the assistant/receptionist chilling outside the place reading a book, waiting for Joe to come open the place?
The receptionist guy told us that Joe was running late and he would be here momentarily, but that we could come back later if we wanted. I asked my boyfriend if we should go to Rock Star Piercing on Thayer st., but that was across town. It looked like we might not get our piercings because my boyfriend had to go to work soon, and until ten at night. Lo and behold though, just as soon as we were gonna go Joe arrived, like spiderman [my favorite]! double yippie!
So we smoked some nicotine as we waited outside for them to turn the alarm off and what not. I was getting really excited about getting my daith even though its a very subtle piercing and is not one that changes your look all that much, still its noticeable, and the "ouch" factor is 100 squared. I like piercing that to the eye look painful, but to me no piercings are that unbearable. The pain lasts about 3 seconds usually, unless you have gone to a bad piercer!
My boyfriend decided to go first, since I went first the last time when I got my tragus and he got his eyebrow. This time around He was getting his helix done. Joe, the owner and piercer, is very nice and professional. So is his assistant, I forget his name, it may be Jason, he is very good about explaining aftercare, and jewelry selection/prices. They also offer you gauze and saline solution if you do not have any to clean your lovely new mod with.
So finally the time came after the paperwork and photo copying of the ids and what not. I was allowed to come in the room and watch my boyfriend get his helix, I tried to look while he was getting pierced, but to bad i was sitting down and didn't feel like getting up. I did see his face though when Joe pierced him and it didn't change at all! I was surprised because my boyfriend can be somewhat of a weenie!
Okay, MY TURN! Joe sanitized the table, washed his hands, etc. and asked which side, I told him right side, and we were all set to go. First he cleaned the daith to kill any germs on it, and marked where it would be placed. I laid down on the table and turned my head to the left and immeditaley started to do somewhat of a yoga practice. Breathing slowly, in and out.
It took him what seemed forever, because he was deciding at which angle to approach this piercing from, finally on exhale, I felt the needle through the daith cartilage and yes it does hurt, but like I said for like 3 seconds, I did do the scrunch face though.
I looked in the mirror and adored my new daith and couldn't wait to show it off. On my other ear I have helix, tragus and also 2 lobes, one is stretched to a 10. Also I have an eyebrow,nostril [ring but putting in a stud tomorrow],navel,3 tongue rings,and a monroe. I also have a lot of hours worth of tattoos racked up, right now I am working on a sleeve.
I absolutely love body modification and I appreciate sites such as BME where people can go to learn, adore, share, and what not about body mods, and that so called "haters" have no place here. I plan to get my septum tomorrow so I'll be sure to be taking mental notes so I can have good story to tell about that experience!
