About two Weeks before my eighteenth birthday back in September of 2005 I had been contemplating as to what I wanted pierced, since I would finally be of legal age. I switched every day, tongue, daith, snug, tongue web, nose, anti-tragus, or even an industrial. I could not make up my mind. I just wanted everything at one time. I ended up deciding with a tongue web.

I walked in with confidence, having that in my mind, nothing will be as painful as my right tragus had been. As it turns out, the only guy at the shop who was obviously skilled enough to pierce tongue webs was not there that day, so after thinking for a long twenty minutes, I had made my decision down to two piercings. It was either going to be my left tragus, boring, but i just had to get something done, since I was legal and had not had a piercing in almost a year, or my daith. I told the man I wanted my tragus and he looked at mine and said it was too small, so then I went with my daith. As we walked through the shop I compared to the shop I got my tragus done at, which was my friends basement, where her mom had her own shop set up. Even though she did a great job with my right tragus, it wasn't the cleanest place, and not very professional. This place was clean to the maximum.
After I had paid for my piercing, the guy went over aftercare and all the tips I needed to help my piercing heal fast and to prevent infection. When I went to my friends mom, she told me to use bactine to clean it everyday, and I mentioned that to the guy, and he practically died. He told me that bactine is the worst ever for a piercing, because it dries it out, so i quickly learned not to use that on my new piercing.
The piercer walked my two friends and me into a private room equipped with everything needed. He sat me down in the most comfortable chair ever. He cleaned my ear, and then marked the spot. He double checked with me to see if I like where he had positioned the mark. I agreed and on we went. He turned on his music to help him relax, and pulled out the new 18g needle, along with a cbr. I felt some nerves as he came closer to piercing me. As he got closer he showed me the needle that he would be using, told me that it was brand new, etc, then showed me the jewerly that he would be putting into my ear after it was done. I got those nerves in my stomach, and was worried about the pain I was about to go through. I kept thinking in my mind, I hope this isn't as bad as my tragus. He calmly had me count to three, and before I knew it, it was over. The most that I felt was his hands on my ear and the barely there pinch of the needly going in, other than that I could barely feel it. I think that after you go through one piercing that hurts a lot, other ones are no big deal.
It was a little red afterwards, which is normal, and sore for the next day or so, but other than that it was no problem. It has been almost 6 months since I got this done and it has healed wonderfully. Even though I wasn't supposed to change it for 7-9 weeks, I ended up changing it after a month, which was fine. The only thing that I realize I'm not too fond of is how high it is. I would of liked it lower down but he had told me it was too small on my ear and would not be possible to pierce it there. I would highly recommend this piercing to anyone who can't seem to make up their mind as to what they want, like I was in the beginning. I dont think that too many people really have this done ether. I have only seen one other person in my town with it. I like the way it looks, plus you can put a ring, studd, cbr anything in it and it still looks sweet. If you are worried about the pain, don't be. I was scared about getting blood drawn, so if you've ever had that done, this is no big deal at all! I would go get everything pierced if i knew that it would be as simple and painless as this one was. Good luck and good piercing to you!
