I first started thinking about getting an industrial about six months ago, when looking for what I wanted to get as my next piercing. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and I knew it was the perfect piercing for me. This piercing was something that not many people had in my area and that's why I wanted it so bad because I like to be different than other people.

I knew that my mother would never agree to it because she's really strict with the whole piercing thing. She hates it, but I decided to talk to her about it anyway. Just as I thought she ended up saying she'd think about it but she said no. So I just kept bugging her about it that she didn't have to take me. I had already talked my father into taking me as long as my mother agreed that I could get it. I finally talked her into letting me get it done for my 15th birthday as long as I found a good place. I already knew that I wanted to have it done at Planet New York in Poughkeepsie because it's like five minutes from where my dad lives.

I usually do all my own piercing's but I decided that this was one I wanted to have done by someone who knew what they were doing. I would also not recommend anyone piercing themselves it can be dangerous and something could go wrong. I was so excited that I was finally able to get it I called my dad and told him to come get me that weekend so that I could get it done. When we got there on Sat they told me that the piercer wasn't in yet so I would have to come back in a few hours I was bummed that I would have to wait a while longer but it wasn't that long. When we went back we filled out the form and waited for some girl to get her cartilage done. I was so excited and I have a really high pain tolerance and I love needles so I was figuring that it wouldn't hurt to bad. My dad told me that if I said that it hurt while I was getting it done he was going to laugh at me. So when the guy called me back to measure me ear and get ready I told him I wasn't going to say a word. After the guy got the right length bar he marked my ear where he thought it should be and I thought it looked perfect. I laid back he told me he would count to three and do it. Well he got to two and just did the bottom hole and all I felt was a little pinch was the needle broke through. Then he said he was going to count to three again and he did the top hole and I once again felt a small pinch but that was it. I didn't even feel the bar going in because I had to ask him if it was in yet. It did bleed a little but nothing major and it cleaned up and looked awesome I was so happy that I had finally gotten it done. Once it was all over all I felt was a little tingly feeling in my ear but it didn't hurt. My dad told me that it looked really good but that I better not let it get infected or anything which has never happened with any of my piercing's before.

Now three months later I am fully healed and it looks awesome all my friends loved it and many of them had never seen it before.

Looking back on it now I don't think it was the cleanest place because the guy didn't even wear gloves while he was doing it. I also think at one point that he wiped the blood off with his hand but I'm not sure. There were also not very good aftercare instructions like how long before I could change it and the whole cleaning thing but I just cleaned it in the shower with soap and water and it turned out fine I haven't had any problems with it.

To anyone thinking about getting this piercing I would definitely recommend it. I love mine and I am really happy that I decided on that because it looks awesome. My mother hates it because it's not what she thought it was going to look like but I'm not taking it out. I also can't wait until I get my next piercing, I just have to be careful because my job doesn't allow certain ones, but I am going to get whatever I can. I think that next time I'll chose a different place because I think they could've been more careful and a little cleaner but oh well to late now.
