Industrial piercings are the greatest! I just got mine not even two weeks ago and it is healing perfectly!

I saw lots of pictures on bme of course and heard lots of stories but I'd never actually seen one in person. Then one day, I was at this restaurant and I saw one on this waitress. It looked so awesome and I couldn't help but gawk at it! My mom and dad were surprisingly all for it. However, they did say I could only get 4 or 5 more piercings then I'd have to wait until I'm 18 to get more. I currently have 9.. with the industrial piercing. I'm thinking of maybe getting three naval piercings and a couple more ear piercings as well. Anyways, nothing was holding me back from getting the much wanted industrial so I went all in!
The place that I got my piercing at was called Pierce This! in Stuart, Fl. I would really recommend that you call a place first before you go there. My dad and I drove around for hours one day and the places were either closed, out of stock, or wouldn't pierce underage people.
Anyways, the girl that did my piercing said that it would be better for the piercing if I just got a hoop in each hole that the bar would go through so that the piercings could heal individually and fully. If you are going to get your industrial done I highly recommend this. Its so much easier to clean and plus, if you bump one of the piercings, it won't have much effect on the other piercing. Whereas if you hit the bar while it was healing it would hurt both of the piercings. After the piercings have healed or around 4 weeks, then you can stick the bar through.
I went to Pierce This! at around 7 o'clock at night, so it was pretty busy in there. My mom and I walked in and it was really clean and the people were so nice. We had to wait about 30 minutes for some people who were getting their tongues pierced. Also the girl didn't believe that my mom was actually my mom so we spent some time trying to convince her that she really was my mother and that yes.. my birth certificate was not forged. After, I followed her into the back room where she had me sit on this dentist chair. She then put on gloves and swung a cart over that had all of her instruments. Me being me.. I am never nervous which sometimes pisses people off but it works great for me. So I just sat calmly in the chair awaiting the needle. Finally, she makes some marks on my ear where she will put the needle through and picks up the needle. Just a push later and I had another piercing! It was so fast and painless. It felt kind of weird though. You can feel the needle going through your skin. She picked up another needle and stuck it through. This one hurt less than the first one I think, probably because the anticipation was over and I got so excited that I was actually going through with it. She then stuck one hoop in one hole and the other hoop in the other hole. It was done! I was so excited I practically hopped out of the room to my mom. We then bought some salt solution that I had to clean my piercings with and bought a bar that I could put in. Now I can't wait until my piercings are healed so that I can put the bar in!
Note to all you people who are nervous about getting your industrial.. the nervousness and anticipation hurts more than the actual piercing! Seriously, you will be so happy you got it and kicking yourself for not getting it done earlier. The piercing just gets hot afterward and you will feel a little prick when the needle goes through. Also, don't tense up when the person whos piercing you puts the needle through. The girl that did mine had me do this breathing exercise where she put the needle in after I had exhaled. Even though I wasn't that tense, it just helps prepare you and relax you for whats coming. (which is not much)
Now 1 and a half weeks later, the piercings are looking great and I don't even have to clean them as much. I've gone swimming in a pool and they're still looking great. I play with them a lot to which I know I shouldn't do but its so addicting. The only thing is that I got them on my left ear and I slept on my left side before I got it done. So now, I can't roll over onto that side which kind of sucks. But other than that I love them so much! I can't wait to get my other 5 piercings!! Or more perhaps if I'm secretive.
