I'd wanted an Industrial for about 2 years but wasn't able to because my school has a strict uniform policy that greatly limits what you can do with your appearance. Anyhow I decided that after I'd done my GCSEs and gone to 6th form I'd get an industrial done.

2 Years later I'm at 6th form studying Music, Geography, Theology and Politics at AS level. Politics was a fucking nightmare. Boring as hell with 1 mardy arsed teacher and another who couldn't stay on topic when he was talking. I was fed up because I had too much work to be doing and wanted to drop a subject. Politics was the obvious option so I went to my Head of 6th form (who also happened to be my politics teacher) and asked if I could drop the subject. He said not unless I got on top of all my other work in all my other subjects, then I could drop it. This was dumb as my work was in a downward spiral of bad grades and was not about to get better. Eventually I decided myself that if they wouldn't let me drop the subject I'd drop it myself.

I was sat in the common room one lunchtime just before Politics when my mate Dom came and sat with me and told me he wasn't going to his Politics lesson and was going to get his ear pierced (2 rings in his cartilage) and would I come with him? I thought "what a good idea" and after Inspecting my wallet I discovered that I had £30 with my so I thought "I might get something done as well" and remembered the Industrial I'd wanted for so long. We walked down to Feline tattoo studio about 15 minutes away. Neither of us had been there before but it had a reputation as the best place in Sheffield.

We went in and I checked the price of the Industrial. I was pleased to find it was £30. Just enough.

Jayne the piercing lady appeared from somewhere and handed us 2 forms to fill in, which we filled in. She took us both into the back room and Dom sat in the chair, she did him pretty quick and then sat me down so she could do my industrial. Jayne was very chatty and friendly and it was very relaxing seeing as I was slightly nervous about getting a needle shoved through my ear. It was my first piercing done without a gun.

She showed me all the sterilized needles and stuff and then measured my ear. She made 2 dots where the 2 holes would be but the bottom hole was too high up and I wanted my industrial to go further down. She marked me up again and it was perfect.

Jayne put on her gloves and took out the needle. She told me to count to 3 and then breathe out as the needle went through. I don't know what I was expecting but it hurt a lot as the needle went through the cartilage. The second hole wasn't as bad as the first although I did sort of go "Pfffff" when she did it.

After "a quick tug" the bar was in. I looked at it in the mirror and it looked great, she told me about aftercare etc and then we went back out to pay.

Me and Dom said goodbye to Jayne and left Felines, first thing we did was look at each other and go "Owww!" We walked back to school through the park, stopping at Tesco's on the way back for some food. We got to Tesco at 2:30 and realised with amazement that the rest of the Politics class would still only be halfway through the lesson. We discussed future piercings and tattoos and the piercings we just had. My ear tingled a bit but was fine. We were both very pleased with our piercings and agreed that it was a much better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon than a Politics lesson. We got back to school and noticed that Dom's had begun to bleed and had a nice trail of blood but mine was fine. People seemed quite impressed by it as many had never seen one before. Dom admitted that before he saw mine he had no idea what I was on about.

2 months later it's well on its way to healing but has developed a little bit of keloid scarring around the holes, otherwise is fine.

Feline is a great place to get pierced and I was back there the other day to get my lip done. They have a really good professional but relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the hygiene is outstanding. Anyone wanting to get tattooed or pierced in Sheffield should go to Feline.
