First of all I would advise to everyone to get their piercings done professionally but since two years ago I was a bored teenager with nothing better to do but poke myself with random sharp objects, I had my boyfriend at the time do it. So we were sitting around watching TV in his basement with a lot of people. We all decided to get something pierce and I decided to get my cartilage done since I thought it wouldn't be that bad or painful. My best friend at the time, thought she would get it done to. We both made pretty bad dents in each others hands since we held on to each others hand when we got it done. We are just little girls, not big tough guys.
At A Glance Author Melissa Contact Melissa@bme.anon When Two years ago Artist My ex Studio Basement So back to my random boring piercing story since we didn't have enough guts to pierce ourself we had my boyfriend at the time. he had pierced many of people, their tongue, ears, lip, and later on my belly button but this was way before that which I would have to say is a lot less painful and my ears. So at that time I had a great deal of trust in him or so I thought I did, he's not a bad piercer its just when someone who's not a real professional coming towards you with a sharp object you tend to get scared. So we wanted to pierce something and I had my cartilage pierced a long time ago but it had closed up. So I decided to get both done at one time. That was a mistake since it was a lot of pain at once and I had to sleep on my back for at least 6 weeks because my ears were so sore. They still tend to hurt now when I sleep on them, but if they do I just take them out and put them back in, in the morning but sadly you can't do that when they are healing because they will close up VERY easily as any piercing would and it's sucks to have to re pierce it.
We found a sharp safety pin, disinfected it by burning it for a period of time and began poking away. I had put ice on it for about 20 minutes thinking it would numb it and make it a little less painful. Which didn't do much but make my ear red and tender. He pushed it though and boy did it hurt, I heard a loud popping noise that had to be the worst. He kept the safety pin in for awhile hoping it wouldn't bleed but as soon as he took it out blood got all over my shirt which I still haven't been able to get out and I had to pop an earring in as quick as I could . I'm a pretty tough kid so it wasn't that bad.
The second one wasn't as bad. He popped it through real quick but the hard thing was the safety pin hard so bad to take out, I would grab his hand real quick in a reaction just so it wouldn't hurt. It took me at least 10 minutes before I had enough guts for him to pull it out of my ear.
I do have some problems with them now, since one is piercing inward weird but I love them. They are still tender if you hit them but they are definitely worth getting. I would advise getting real piercing needles, it would hurt a lot less and they rip through a lot fast than a safety pink which is dull and take awhile to rip though.
As I said I would recommend a professional, piercing yourself can be very painful and could lead to infection. One of my ears has gotten infected before and it's not the prettiest and best thing to deal it. It had gotten a lump on the side of it was very painful. I sprayed a lot of bactine on it and hoped for the best. But in the end run I had to take it out for a few months and re pierce it again. I got a it professionally done that time, and they pretty much told me that I had screwed my ear up pretty bad since somehow it had been piercing downward and had caused a bump to appear and get infected. On tip is definitely use bactine when getting any piercing it has helped so much with my ear not getting infected in.
Yet though all they I love getting piercings. I have 10 in my ears all together, and i have my belly down, and my nose. I am just waiting till I turn 18 to get my first tattoo and that will definitely be a scary need experience.
