Now I am fourteen years old. When i was 13 I started seeing girls at my school with their industrials pierced. I have always been a fan of piercings and my mom only lets me get my ears pierced. I asked my mom about it last year and she said she'd think about it. She finally gave me an answer and the answer was yes, but we never got around to doing it. I had originally planned to get it pierced on my birthday in September but that fell through.

We planned on going on a saturday, so my brother, his friend and our mom's all headed up to the tattoo shop. When we got their and the boys were nervous and anxious so we filled out their paper work and they went back to get inked. Since we were at a tattoo shop and my mom was around to give me a parents consent, I asked her about it. She said I could go ahead and get it done, so she went up and filled out some paper work and i headed back into the piercing room.
She had me sit on a big dentist like chair. She started to get all of the things she would need ready. She got out a needle, ear cleaner, and the barbell. She put a couple different barbells up to my ear to see which one would be the best choice. She chose the smallest one because I have small ears. She cleaned my ear with the cleanser stuff and she marked my ear. She gave me a little mirror to look into to see if she had made good marks. Me and my mom liked where she had put them and on she went. When i was just sitting in that chair I thought I was gonna back out but I remembered that I told all my friends I was getting this pierced so I had to just grin and bear it. She told me to close my eyes and count to five. She told me I would start to feel some pressure but it would be over soon. I was incredibly nervous waiting for her to put the needle through. She put the needle through the side of my ear first. After she put the needle through she put the barbell through the first hole. Then she proceeded on the the top hole. She pierced that and took the needle out and pulled the barbell through the top hole. Then she just screwed on the ball and I was finished. She swiped my ear with a Q-tip to get rid of any blood I mite have. I felt dizzy afterwards because I heard a crunch when she pierced it and it just kind of made me sick. She went and bought me a sprite to bring my blood sugar back up.
When we were finished we went back out into the front room and she explained how I would need to clean it everyday in the shower with dial soap. We also bought some Dr. Piercings cotton swabs to clean away any crusties that I mite have. We paid her $50 dollars and we thanked her and we were on our way because my brother and his friend were already finished with their tattoo's. They took one look at my ear and though i was crazy. Im not gonna lie it did hurt. It was mostly just a lot of pressure on my ear and it felt like she had to shove the needle through. Right after wards and the first 2 or 3 weeks my ear was very sore and tender, and bled when I tried to twist it. I wasn't able to twist it for about 1 week because it was so swollen. But now about a month later its feeling great but it still hurts when someone bumps it or I hit it with the hair brush.
Also don't be surprised if some of your friend's parents don't exactly love your piercing. Parents just don't understand, but all of my friends love it. I haven't heard one bad thing about my new piercing. I love my industrial piercing. Its something i have wanted for a long time and I finally got it. It feels a lot better when you want something and you gotta wait for it, because when you finally get it you feel like you accomplished something. I encourage anyone who wants to get one to get it. Its not too much pain and you will love it after you get it. The only bad thing about getting something like your cartilage pierced is that you can't change the rings or the barbell for up to a year. But why would you want to change it, it's the greatest.
