My first cartilage piercing was a good one. Well all of mine have been fantastic, so I have no reason to complain. Kim was my piercer. I knew who she was because she had done my friends rook; it healed perfectly, so I was comfortable with her. It was sometime in November or December 04. It was my day off from work, and my parents had left early for work so I didn't get a chance to ask my dad for permission, because being 16 I assumed I wouldn't need it, but I found out later I was wrong. I had just started working in a salon in the city quite close to off ya tree/punktured, so I was kinda shitted I was going to the city on my day off. I woke up around 10 and suddenly decided I was going to get a piercing, originally I planned on getting my tragus pierced, and so I had a shower, cleaned my ears thoroughly, and caught a train into the city. I delayed going down to off ya tree/punktured as much as I could till it was afternoon and I was running out of money that I could mindlessly spend.

I made my way down the stairs greeted the guys at the counter and walked down to the piercing end. I was greeted by a smiley Kim. I told her what I wanted done and she said she'd need parental consent, I told her I was 16, but she said it was more for their sake because they had a few complaints from parents who hadn't consented to their children getting pierced and I don't really know why, but even now I still need parental consent, which for my sake is good otherwise I'd have WAY more piercing than I do. Anyways, I was kinda freaked because I hadn't even mentioned to my parents about getting any cartilage piercings, ever. So as you could imagine my dad was surprised when he got a phone call at work asking if he consented to his daughter getting her tragus pierced, he had no clue where the tragus was, so Kim put me on the phone to try to describe and smooth it over. my dad told me I wasn't allowed to get my tragus done, my heart sank, I tried to bargining with him, using the fact my older brother had his helix done so why cant I get my ear pierced. My dad still tried to convince me out of it, telling me that my brother had got his done when he was 18 and his was just the top of his ear, but I was persistent, so I agreed to just get my helix done, my excuse was is that it was a fashion accessory. Kim had a quick chat to my dad confirming details about me making sure that it was all legit and he was my dad and everything, the usual. I told her quickly before I changed my mind that I didn't want it silver, because the blackline looked much prettier. She gave me a form to fill out while she went to set up. She came back out and ran through all of the aftercare procedures with me, I paid and followed her into the studio. She was very clean, there was about 4 changes of gloves and that was just sterilizing my ear, she showed me trying a few different positions and angles until we agreed on one, I had the biggest grin on my face. She marked it out and changed her gloves again, I didn't really pay attention to the needles or equipment she had, not on purpose, I just didn't think to look. I was expecting it to hurt like hell, the only piercing I had was my lobes and they were with a gun at a hairdressers, which thinking about it if I was my choice I would have gotten done at a professional studio, it was gross I was just sitting in a chair and there was hair and everything around me and they turned out little unbalanced...ok anyways off track. I was expecting a lot of pain because of what my friends had told me, my eyes were scrunched tight, and then, it was done, it was like a pinch on my ear...and kim said all done, I was like, wow, really?, she said yep, and that I was very good especially for my first piercing, but that's what they all say. She showed me and I had the cheesiest grin on my face, I was so happy, she laughed at me. I jumped off the bed [I guess it's like a bed] and danced my way back outside to the counter. I went to touch it but I was yelled at and told to leave it alone or it wont heal, I thanked Kim tons Kim no longer works at off ya tree/punktured which sucks but these things happen and everyone at off ya tree/punktured are very friendly and their piercers are superb.

I recommend them highly, and every time I go back they always check to see how they're going and are helpful with any questions I've had. I've always felt comfortable with them which is why I've never been anywhere else and don't plan to.
