I was planning on getting something pierced in a couple of weeks but I could not decide on what, all I knew that I was going to the parlor that was 2 piercing for $55. So I went on a few different sites looking at all the different ones that I could get, because I was already running out of places that I actually wanted to get pierced. I then finally decided that I would get my nape and left side lip done. Well when I got to the piercing place I talked to the girl that was going to pierce me, I asked her a bunch of questions like "will it hurt if I got my nape done?", and she just said "I don't recommend doing it because it will probably grow out". So that changed my mind right away on getting that done, I was kind of disappointed but I got over it. I really did not want a scar in back of my neck and the pain of it growing out.
At A Glance Author Melissa Contact Melissa@bme.anon When Six months ago I then started to think what else could I get done? Then it came to me that I could get my Tragus pierced. It was something that my mom has wanted me to get, and her not really liking piercings I thought it would make up for lip which she did not want me to get done. Well the plan worked when she saw my lip she did not really care because she liked the Tragus Piercing so much.
So when I finally decided to get that done she sat me in the room. I started to ask more questions about the Tragus piercing because I did not know a lot of people that had it done. She started to get frustrated with me at that point which I did not think was right. But I continued to sit there and get pierced. She did my Tragus first, which was a really weird feeling. When the needle went in my whole ear felt like it went tight and that she wasn't doing it right or something. I had no idea what it should feel like so I kept my mouth shut. She pierced it with a 16g hoop that seemed too big for it even with swelling. I was just so happy that I got it done and it did not hurt at that point.
Then came my left side lip, I again did not know much about it being done. She went to spray something on my lip to numb it but I did not know what it was so I was like "what is that?" She then said "Fine I wont numb your lip for you!" In a attitude sort of way that I could tell that she was getting frustrated with me. Before she put the needle in my lip I asked to see the Jewelry so she showed it to me. The hoop was a 16g and it was huge! My friend got her lip done and it wasn't a quarter the size of the hoop she gave me, and me and my friend had about the same size lips. I demanded her to change the size but she didn't, she just told me "what if it swells really bad then you will have problems with it". I at that point was getting frustrated with her. I went along with what she said because I knew that there was no point in arguing with what she said because I knew that she would win in the end. So she pierced my lip and she didn't even ask me where I wanted it on my lip, she just stuck the needle through my lip. If I were to pierce my lip again I would of wanted it a little more to the left.
The healing was going pretty good in both of my piercings. About a week later I went to a different place to get my hoops changed. The new place the people were a lot more friendly, and I wished that I went there to get my piercings done even if I had to pay a couple of extra dollars to get it done.
He first took out my Tragus Piercing. He agreed with me that the hoop was too big and could interfere with the healing time because of all the extra weight of the hoop. Because I haven't had the piercing done that long he had to make a taper. It took him about 20 minutes to find the angle that the girl had pierced it at. I think it would have been a better idea of me to go to the girl to get my Tragus changed because at least she knew the angle that she pierced it at. Then he did my lip with no problem.
After that day my ear started to hurt a lot. But I stuck it out and eventually it got better after about a month. I did everything I could to heal it. I cleaned it twice a day and didn't play with it. I cleaned it with the stuff the second place gave me.
My lip also took a little while longer to heal because I kept on playing with it. The healing felt like it took forever! I felt like I could never bite into a hamburger ever again. The healing also took about a month. I also cleaned that with the stuff the second place gave me and I used Oral B mouth wash.
One thing that I learned about this experience was to do research on the place before I go and get the piercing or what ever I want done.
