This is the story of my 8ga inner conch.
At A Glance Author Bud Contact eviscerated_stabwound@hotmail.com When Three months ago Artist Brando Studio Screamin Mimi's Tattoo Location Amarillo,TX I had been looking through sections of BME at large gauge piercings. I have been infactuated with stretched lobes since I was little. I finaly started stretching my own lobe , but thats a different story. I had been wanting to do something for patient wise and different. I looked at large gauge cart. and thought it was damn neat. Well I finaly got the nerve up and called Brando , my local and very trusted piecer on getting it done. He told me we could do it and for me to come in. Well a few days went by and I finaly got up there.
Fast forward a few days and were in the shop. We're talking and he tells me I can start out with a CBR. Cool with that , I payed him 40 bucks , and still I thought it was pretty cheap. We go into the back room and I sit down up against the piercing chair. I get kind of nervous but thats usualy normal. He marks my ear, and pleased I agree with it. He tells me to breathe in and out nice and slow. I do so as he slides the needle in. Now this part didnt bother me at all , I didnt know the needle was in untill he tugged the ring into my ear. I was expecting bleeding as I've seen in most pictures on here but not one drop of blood. No swelling. No bruising. It's what every piercee wants from a piercing. A smooth go through. I guess I expected to much. After admiring this , I tipped him 10 bucks and walked out. Just a bit of a dull throb is all I felt.
Once again, go foward a few weeks. My ear is being bitchy , but I figured with such a place of it being pierced and its size , it would be. I do my advised sea salt soaks and hope for the best. One day I'm shaving and I look into the mirror and see this HUGE white bump on the entrance hole. What the hell is this shit? I bend my ear forward and see a even bigger one on the edge of the exit hole. Its as if the skin were GROWING around the ring. Strange I thought to my self. It didnt hurt, but it was more sore as if I bumped it. I left it alone for a while and did sea salt soaks some more. Finaly after getting worried I went back to Brando to see what was wrong. He informed me that it would be irritated from me sleeping on it or bumping it with the phone. He gave me a packet of crushed aspirin , told me to make a paste and set it on and let it absorb. Come back in a couple of weeks if it isnt cleared up. So I go along with this method and I do notice a bit of a difference but not much. I finaly go back and talk to him some more. We thought that maybe it was the ring causing pressure on it and the weight of a steel CBR making it worse. Well this has been about 2 months after the piercing so we take the CBR out and put in a single flare acrylic 8ga plug with a silicone O-ring. Instantly my ear felt better from the pressure being taken off the holes. I keep doing the aspirin paste and sea salt soaks. What do you know, a few weeks later my ear was as clear as it could ever be. From then on I became more careful with it and still do one sea salt soak a day because Im in metal trades and woodshop at school so it gets a bit dirty here and there. I plan on stretching it out to a 4ga , but I'm gonna wait a couple of years to even attempt it. I like how the look is now , it's not to big but its not to small. Maybe it was a sign in the beginning that it wouldnt have been perfect. But I dont regret it and look forward to more experiences. I guess I can start on my ear other ear since it's still unpierced at all. I plan on doing more piercings and modifications and it would give me a great feeling to know that someone takes the time out of their business and read this and tell me about them. I wrote this to inform others what it was like , complications I had and to bring forth a account on what it was like. I say if your interested in something like this , just go ahead and go for it.
