Since I first saw a dermal punch on your site, I always wanted one. The biggest problem was where to get one. I live in Adelaide and although many people are pierced here, I could not find anyone doing them here. I met a girl once and she had a 10mm hole punched out of her helix and when she took it out to show me, the hole was a perfect circle and it looked fantastic. I had to have one of these. The biggest thing here at the moment is ear lobe stretching. Everyone is doing it.

They were all done by Sandi at Body Cult, and I have always been happy with her work and her thoroughness. I went in one day and noticed a photo on her wall of a dermal punched helix. After chatting about it, I was pleased to find out that she had started doing dermal punching. That was all I needed to know because I totally trust her and asked when we could do mine. We booked it for the following Friday. In the meantime I asked her all about healing and the pain and she explained everything to me. I was happy with the information and could not wait for the day to arrive. As I said already I have quite a few piercings but I knew this was going to be different from a normal piercing.
Friday came, and in I went. We decided to do my Conch with a 4mm Dermal punch because the space in my conch was not so big to accommodate anything much bigger. As I was prepared, I felt a little nervous but mostly excited. Sandi made me lie down and start to relax my breathing while she prepared her tools. The area was checked and then marked. The actual procedure was very quick but hurt like hell. It felt like something was screwing into my head and I could hear it cutting through my cartilage. The last bit was the most painful as it cut through the last bit of flesh. Once cut, the pain abated but I suppose that was my endorphins kicking in.
I did not bleed too much according to Sandi who has seen Dermal Punches bleed a lot more. I did not even feel the plug going in. I did not feel dizzy at all. I was made to stay lying down for awhile and given sweets to eat. I was cleaned up and then had a look at my new hole. It looked like it had been there for ages. No swelling at all. Then Sandi gave me my piece of cartilage that had been a part of me just minutes ago. I still have it by the way 1 month later and its gone totally transparent. That was pretty freaky seeing that piece of skin.
I hung around for awhile, felt fine and finally headed off home. I felt almost no pain except when touching it, trying to clean it. I could not sleep on it for a few days but it was not intense pain, just more like a weak throb. I can already take it in and out even though I should not be doing that too much.
I went back and saw Sandi the next day and she said it was looking great and was surprised how there was no swelling at all. She also cleaned it for me. As for aftercare, all I did was keep it clean and used some Sea Salt from the Dead Sea that I was given and gave it some soaks with it. Thats it!
I was at Body Cult a week ago when Sandi came in carrying 8mm dermal punches and I asked if I could get another one in the other ear. Obviously I had already forgotten the pain of the fist one. I was told to wait till I could comfortably sleep on my first one before having the other ear done. We swapped the plug over that day and Sandi took a photo of my conch with nothing in it. I think it looks great without any jewelery in it and cant wait to wear it this way. My photo is on the wall if anyone wants to have a look at my little hole.I have been getting mixed reactions but for the whole most people think it looks great but do not understand how I put up with the pain. I do think that I might be starting a trend with it though. Its now 1 month later and I have had no problems. I can not wait to experience a 8mm punch next. I would say go for it to anyone thinking about having one done and recommend Sandi at Body Cult to do it for you. I love my Dermal Punch.
