I must say, my Industrial piercing is one of the most fun. I got it done a few ago and couldn't be happier with it. But man was it an ordeal trying to get it done.
At A Glance Author AngelsPain18 Contact wake_me_up18@comcast.net When Three months ago Artist Wonderful Laura Studio Beadscape Location Riverside, NJ I had been talking to my dad for a few months about getting it done. Of course he never fully understood what it was until it was done but that is for later. Anyway... I talked to Laura in Beadscape a lot about it before I got it done so I could give my dad all the information about it. He said he would think it over and get back to me. Of course that took another few months and I finally went back and asked and he said sure. I was so shocked and excited I nearly tackled him!
So we finally picked a day to go and get it done. My friend had been saying how she wanted to come with me to get it done and observe. She just wanted to watch. So we picked her up and drove over to the shop. It was still closed! Turns out Laura had to go to the hospital because a cut on her face couldn't stop bleeding.
So by this time my dad was fed up because the shop opened late and he wanted to leave. Due to his frustration he just signed the papers and paid and left wishing me luck! He left! So I couldn't be stopped now whether he liked it or not. So while the bar soaked my friend and I sat in the back room waiting when Laura comes in and asks if it is okay if this woman gets her belly button pierced real quick before work. Of course I didn't care.
One, she worked at the strip club around the corner and two, asked Laura in Portuguese if she could pierce her vagina! That was an awkward moment. We watched her get he belly button done, she left, and as soon as she was out of ear shot we started laughing like mad.
The day couldn't get any weirder. Then the procedure began. Man that was crazy. I was shaking like a leaf. I was so nervous my friend started laughing at me because the chair was shaking too. Laura prepped me and told me how it all would go and I took a deep breath and waited.
She got out the ink and marked me up, showed me, and had me lay back down. She got the needle out and I couldn't even look. I hate needles for the record, stupid huh? So she tells me she is starting and I feel the point of the needle on my ear. And POP! It goes right through and you can just hear the needle penetrating the cartilage. Man it was sick! And it still wasn't over. She pulled the cork off the needle and prepped me for the second hole. She shoved the needle through and all I heard was that stupid POP again.
Let me tell you, it didn't hurt but it burned like mad. Finally, she guided the bar in to my new holes and put the balls on. I was done! It was awesome. My friend loved it and a few minutes later a few other friends walked in and they went nuts. Like I said, it was an interesting day.
I saw my dad about two hours later. Man was he shocked. And to think he signed for it! He looked at it and tried to touch and I smacked his hand away. He raised his eyebrow at me. He said, "I am not so sure I like it." I laughed and told him that he signed for it and I wasn't planning on taking it out anytime soon. He said okay, got back in the car and I simply laughed. My grandmother had to be the funniest though. I had forgotten about the bar and was just talking to her when out of nowhere she yells, "What the Hell is in your ear?!" I laughed so amazingly hard. I explained to her that I had gotten my ear pierced again and she laughed and shook her head. To this day she still makes fun of me. She threatens to drag me around by the bar too. But she is okay with it now. She simply had to adjust like my dad did.
To this day I still have fun with the bar and hang stuff off of it. It really freaks people out. I can't wait to turn 18 to get a vertical industrial done. But that day won't be a day easily forgotten. You want one get one, that is all I have to say! It can be one of the most interesting experiences of your life.
