My industrial experience. Wow, that was a trip. I had wanted an industrial piercing for about a year. I had seen one for the first time one day when I went with a friend to get a tattoo. We were sitting down and looking through a book of the different tattoo's the artist had preformed. One of them was a picture of a person's ear with this ivy vine going down the inside of it. That person also had an industrial piercing. Ever since that day I really wanted one. But, I had never worked up the guts to do it until now. It's not that I was scared it was just that I knew that it would hurt so, I was a little freaked by the thought of it. But a year later I went with my friend to the same exact tattoo place so she could get her tragus pierced and decided I wanted to get my industrial but I had to have permission from my mother since I was not 18 yet. That day I went home and asked my mom if I could get it done and she said if that was what I wanted than fine, "but I had to take care of it". So, I did it I went and made the appointment and it was for a couple of days later.

Finally, the day came. That day was fine. I was excited but not overly. Then 6th period came and I started getting really antsy. The bell rang and I ran for the door to my mom's car and we were on our way. When we got there she got right to business. She had me fill out some paperwork then sent me to a room with a big chair [one that you would see at a dentist office] and explained what would happen. Then she asked if I was ready and I was so she told me to take a deep breathe in and let go. When I let go she pierced the top hole, it wasn't that bad. The she went for the second one [oh I forgot to mention that I wanted my industrial to go the top of my ear to the center. My rook] this was the one I was scared about I knew it would hurt. She said it again, "take a deep breath in and let it out" then she did it. It I have to say did hurt but not as bad as expected it to. I guess you always expect the worst. What hurt the worst with me is that she had some difficulty putting the ring in so she had to re-pierce it and it took an awful long time. Bt, when she was done I was so excited I really like it and couldn't wait for the three months to be up so I could put the barbell in.

So, a couple of days later my mom was going to get her tattoo repair but not at the same place. I went with her and was talking to the piercer about my industrial and he told me that I might never have a bar there because the piercing was not straight. I was pretty upset but decided to not worry about it for a while because he wasn't positive. Then a couple of days later we went back to the guy because my ear was as big as my fist. And he told me that if it kept it up to go back to him in about a week and he would help me. But my ear gradually started to go done so we thought it was getting better. The green colored puss started to come out of it. It wasn't GREEN but it had a tent of yellowish-green to it. Right away we knew it was infected but had no clue how. I mean I took awesome care of it. I did everything I was told to do. But, I wasn't enough because it was very infected. My ear started to turn purple and this stuff still was coming out of it. So we went to a doctor to see what I should do and he told me to put a wet washcloth on a heating pad and lay on it several times a day. Then keep changing the rag because it will get rid of the poison inside my ear. The wet heat drains out the crap in my ear little by little. He also told me that this went on to long that the care I was told did not work. Now, I'm not saying that what I did was wrong or that the person did a bad job but that I should have been more conscientious of my ear. I should have thought more into what was happening to my ear than just cleaning it. Anyway he said that if I had went on doing what I was doing to my ear I could have lost part of my cartilage. And if it did not get better in 2 days I had to go back to him and he would write me a prescription for an antibiotic. But, luckily my ear did get better. Now, it is normal again and I am very thankful. I have not yet tried to put a barbell in so I don't know it will happen but at least I still have an ear. Now, just because I had his incident happen to me doesn't mean that you should not g"\ÃwP! et this particular piercing if that is what you want. It just means that you should defiantly check out the place before you go there. And get help at the first sign of something wrong because I'm sure you don't want to lose part of your ear.
