I first heard of stretching ear lobes when I was at the age of 15. I was getting my first tattoo, and I clearly remember this guy walking into the shop with huge ear lobes. It looked like he had tubing coming out of his ear lobes! I was completely shocked! Not to mention that I was getting my first tattoo, and was mixed with emotions at the time from the experience. I don't know if I was really grossed out by the ear lobes, or if I was more curious than anything.

As the years progressed I kept getting tattoos and piercings and the ear lobes were still on my mind. Now that I am 19 and working on sleeves, with five piercings, the thought of stretching my ear lobes was getting greater and greater.
I found myself going online and researching as much as I possibly could on stretching. I was all excited, until I saw how long the process was. I wanted them now! I couldn't wait that long for my ear lobes! That is when I read about scalpelling. I had no idea that you could get larger ear lobes that way!
After high school graduation, I moved out and was on my own. I now had the ability to do whatever I wanted, so what did I do? I inked my self as much as I could possibly afford, and I was heading down to get my ears scalpelled. I went to my favorite tattoo shop, Impaled and talked to Aaron. Aaron is the piercer at Impaled, and a damn good one too. I have been going to Impaled for awhile now, Michelle and Pardo are the best in the Upper Peninsula.
I was told that since I already had two 14 gauge piercings in my ears that Aaron would scalpel my ears by connecting the holes. That freaked me out!I didn't want to start with anything too big, but Aaron had thise ear lobes to admire! They were perfectly shaped, well taken care of, and large! The larger the better, I always say! I was going to go with a 00 gauge, and that was perfect for the size of lobes that I have.
So I went home and thought about it as much as I could. I waited until my next payday, and I was running down there as fast as my feet would take me. Aaron helped me pick out the plugs and gave me all the healing information. As I sat in the chair, my fingers were tingling I was so excited!As marked the lines, took out the scalpel, and the clamps, I kept thinking to myself...I can not believe I am actually doing this. Right then I felt the scalpel go through the lobe, it went in like butter but man did it hurt!Feeling the pressure on my lobe as he stretched the hole and put the plug in was extreme. In less than five minutes I went from a 14 gauge to a 00. I was pumped!
I was ready for the second one to be over with, but Aaron ran out of sharp scalpels! I let him use a dull one one me, I didn't want screwed up lobes. The pain in this one was even greater than the first.I felt the blood run down my neck, and it made me squeal!As Aaron wiped away the blood, he was nice enough to tell me that I was the only person, male or female, to come in and get their lobes that big. From 14 to 00, he was greatly impressed. He told me to allow three months of healing, and to eat as much jello as possible to help clot the blood.
I went home, and looked in the mirror. I could not believe what I was looking at. I had big lobes! I cleaned them as I was told, and took as much care with them as possible. After I was done healing, I wanted them bigger! I went back to Impaled and they told me to use weights. I went to Menards and picked up two metal spring locks for chains. I popped those puppies in my ears, and let them hang. God did I feel steller! I applied some medical tape to my plugs to make them rounder, and after a couple hours of weights, I put them back in.
Now I am at a 000 and I love it! I am hoping for a 1/2 or maybe even a 5/8...it would be cool to be 7/8 too. I would perfer scalpelling to anyone who is interested in stretching their ear lobes. It is faster, better, and alot more fun!
