Ok. I am in love with piercings. I am absolutely addicted. I spend hours on BME looking at all different types. I had my belly button pierced a while ago, some cartilage on my ear, my lobes pierced twice on each ear(yay I did one myself, I'm so proud!!) and I was getting the urge for another piece of metal through my skin, bcos I don't have that many, and I wanted to add to my collection. So I decided to look for an interesting piercing. I love the way facial piercings look on some people, just not my face. Nipple rings are beautiful as well, but 1, my boyfriend thinks they look trashy (pfft) and you have to be 18. This is the same for genital piercing. So it seemed that ears were the way to go. After looking on BME for ideas, I finally decided on a tragus. I'd seen a girl with one a few years ago in my school, but I never knew what they were called.

I'd also heard varying stories, some saying that they didn't feel a thing, others saying it was extremely painful, and even describing popping noises! I was very keen to hear this so called popping noise, and so when I went to the studio with my awesome, understanding, completely supportive mum, I was so excited! My mum is so cool, I love her guts. I am really lucky to have her. She remembers what it's like to be 16, treats me like an adult, and gives me the freedom I need.
But as I waited, I started to get slightly nervous. I was looking at the walls covered in pictures of tattoos, deciding which I would suit me the best, then in the magazines, anything to take my mind off being nervous. But still the butterflies in my tummy persisted. I suppose that's a good thing though, because then you get adrenalin, and makes u less susceptible to the pain. At the time you don't really think they help though. However, I was absolutely determined to get a small hole in tragus.
He asked me to sit down, and just then, a group of boys came into the shop. This made me determined to act really brave and like I wasn't even worried, hehe. They were watching to see what was happening, but I just looked straight ahead, even though, by this stage, I was terrified. As the needle went in, I heard not a pop, but a crunching noise. There was a tiny bit of blood. I'm not sure if it hurt, so I'm guessing it wasn't too bad, otherwise I would've remembered it. When he was putting the cbr thingy in (is that what it's called?? I'm not sure, but it was the hoopy thing with the ball) it was a bit fiddly, and took a while for the ball to get in. But it was definitely worth it. Whenever someone asks me about it, I make it sound heaps worse than it was. Ooooh it was dreadful, there was a crunching noise and blood splurting everywhere... pure agony!! Hmmm, I wonder why I do that, it makes me sound like a wimp. It was a bit sore for a while, I had to sleep on the other side, or lean on my arm so my ear wasn't touching the pillow. I sprayed the stuff on it, and it got a bit red and angry. Because I'm diabetic, there is a higher risk of infection, but I've found if I keep my blood sugar under really good control, it's all good. I also heard diabetics are more likely to get pierced. Maybe it has something to do with having to shove needles in yourself everyday anyway, so you might as well get some pretty holes as well. Anyway, as I was saying, it looked a bit infected, so I dabbed it with salt solution. It developed a little bump around it, and I'm not really sure what it is. It's heaps smaller now, and it doesn't hurt, or ooze puss, and it looks lovely! I also just didn't touch it, because otherwise I'd be transferring germs onto it. That seemed to work well, because now I have a beautifully pierced tragus.
I think I'm addicted. I mean, I just did my art project on body mods, have my belly button pierced, and now three earrings in ear. Next up is my tongue, ah I'm so excited, it's my birthday present from my boyfriend, I love him!! Gee I wonder why he wants me to get my tongue pierced... Then I want tattoos, maybe 4. But basically, I would recommend this piercing, it's really easy to care for and it looks so cute, just make sure you go to a good place, like Capricorn body art, they are really good. ;) happy piercing adventures!!
