I've liked industrials for quite a while now. Last year {almost a whole year ago!} I got my tragus pierced and my dad said I should get my industrial done. I told he was crazy and that I would never get that done... even though they look amazing. me not wanting one didn't last too long. Two of my friends who I see on a daily basis have them done... and I found myself staring at them when they first got them. Being the nosy kid I am, I asked them millions of questions. You know, the usual... 'where'd you get it done,' 'did it hurt,' 'how much was it,' and on and on.

so.. It's a year since my last piercing, and I'm itching for a new piercing. one that most people don't have. I started surfing bmezine.com for a cool new piercing, and I kept being drawn back to the industrials. Since I work in the service industry {I'm a 'Sandwich Artist' at Subway} I'm not allowed to have facial piercings, so lip rings were out. After I get done there I might go get on. I really like the way they look. Since facial piercings were out, I wanted to get something that would show all the time and wouldn't be covered up by my clothes. I finally decided that I should get an industrial done. I also thought I should even my ears out. I have 12g lobes on both ears, two 18g barbells in my left ear and one 18g barbell in my right along with 7 standard piercings and my tragus in that one ear. I figured my left ear was feeling left out, and that a huge metal bar would really add to it. My mom told me a few weeks ago we were going to go to Brewer before I had to go to work, so she offered take me to Inzane Body Mods and Maine Tattoo so I could get my industrial done. We had to go to Wal-Mart first, so Inzane Body Mods would be open by the time we got there and the whole time we were shopping I was getting more and more nervous. I was so tempted to just forget about the whole piercing... but I had already told a bunch of my friends I was gonna get it done and I didn't want my friends to think I was chicken.

When we got to Inzane Body Mods, it didn't look like it was open, but it was, thank god! I think if I had left I wouldn't have gone back. Anyway, I go in tell the girl behind the counter I want an industrial done, fill out the paperwork. I had to have my mom sign for me, since I'm still a minor. bleh. so. I sat down in the chair and the girl started talking me through the piercing.. I can't remember her name, but she was really good. I couldn't stop shaking for some weird reason; normally I'm okay while I'm getting pierced, but this time the anticipation was really getting to me. I started breathing really deeply, since that helps calm me down. She told me how she was gonna do it and everything. she put the dots on my ear and held the bar up to show me how it was going to look. it looked great the first time, so she put the clamp on my top hole and had me breathe in and out. she shoved the needle through and I flinched. really, really badly. she put the bar through and then she did the bottom hole. she put the bar through that one and then I was done! My mom laughed at me since I flinched a lot while she was piercing me. It did hurt a lot more than my tragus, which I was kinda surprised about, but it's so worth it!! she told me the healing time & how to take care of it. I paid the $30 and left her a tip then we headed out the door. She showed another piercer who was there my badass new industrial to show him how it turned out. I couldn't stop staring at it on the way home.. I just love the way it looks! I went to McDonald's after I got it done and people couldn't stop staring at it. I love attention and having a metal bar stuck in your ear is a great way to get it. If you're in the Bangor/Brewer, Maine area, go to Inzane Body Mods. They're clean, nice and very professional. And they know what they're doing... that's always good! And if you want an industrial, just get it done. Yeah, it may hurt... it may not. Either way, it looks effin' awesome in the end, so it's totally worth it. Also, just a bit of advice, if you "\ÃwPXî get anything pierced on your ear, don't put the phone against it. That's definitely not a very good idea.
