So how about I start with introducing myself? My name is Angela and I'm 17 years old and I'm obsessed with piercings. Yea, it's so true when people say that piercings are addictive and who ever says they're not are crazy! Because once you get one, you want another and another and another. I can go on if you want me to...but I think you get the point! I always have "the itch" for a new piercing, and since I was going mad from not having a new once since January of last year (my wonderful oral web) and since I have the money I decided to get my conch done. I have never actually seen someone in person with this piercing (besides my piercer, but hey, piercers always have the cool uncommon piercings!) so I thought that it would be great to get! I hate how common some piercings are now. I remember when I was still in high school, that was bad, grade 9, every girl got her belly button pierced (yes so did I) then grade 10 was the nose (I did not give in to that luckily!) so I wanted something that no one that I knew had. I wanted something that was me. So conch it was!

I first saw a picture of a conch piercing when I was on BME (which is the best site ever by the way ;)) and I instantly fell in love with it! I thought it would be perfect to add to my collection of piercings (my lip, right nipple, navel, oral web, two lobes in each ear (the second ones 4g soon to be 0) and two helixes in my left ear, (I also have a butterfly trapped in vines tattoo on my back.) The little amount of piercings is due to working in a law firm where you are not allowed to have piercings, luckily I can take out my lip and put it in at the end of the day without it closing) so I went to the wonderful Vision Underground in the Promenade to get it done. My friends Alex and David came with me (Alex got her helix done, David just stood there and looked beautiful!) I was really nervous because I read a lot of horror stories on BME (I like to read the experiences that it did not go well because then I know the bad stuff as well as the good that comes along with a piercing, also I expect it to be horrible but then it is not as bad as I thought it would be) so I hesitated when walking in. Luckily the piercer was not busy (I can not remember his name, my bad, when he told me I was just thinking "gorgeous...... so gorgeous") so I told him what I wanted and paid for it (only $40.46! pretty good!)

I got a 14g Captive Bead Ring because I thought that they looked better then a barbell and would be easier to clean (plus I am a really good healer so I did not worry about it being harder to heal.) I also chose to get it on my right ear because it was boring with only two piercings in my lobe. The piercer got everything ready and had me sit done on the piercing "bed". I asked to lie down because I thought that it would really hurt and I was afraid of moving, and he said that it would be all right but not to worry because it really was not going to hurt. He then took everything out of their sealed packages explaining how everything was autoclaved and what not and prepared me for the piercing. He cleaned up my ear, marked it twice, then let me choose the placement I liked the best (I chose the lower one, it was perfect!) then I lied down and held on to Alex's hand. It went by really quickly, I honestly felt nothing! It was quick, painless, and beautiful. David took a lot of pictures for me so they will be coming soon! I hardly even bled, just a drop. It was amazing! The piercer was great with me. I would recommend him to anyone. He was great with Alex as well who walked out of there proud with her beautiful helix.

I have only had it for 2 days but it really is not that uncomfortable. I have been doing the sea salt soaks twice a day, because it has worked for my other cartilage piercings (the piercer told me to use Spectro gel, I bought it, but I find its awkward to use so I am sticking to my soaks.) I am a affectionate person and forget that it is there so it is getting hit a lot during hugs, but it is not that bad. I just need to learn how to hug using my left side instead. It is great walking outside with it, the cool air feels really good. I find piercings are great to get in the fall, cool breeze to sooth it, no sports to kill it in, it is not hot so no sweat gets in to it and if it is a body piercing (not on your ears or face) u have a long good time to get it healed up before the hot weather comes so u can show it off proudly. I am absolutely in love with my conch, it is gorgeous and I would do it again! (As soon as it is healed, I am getting my left ear done too!) I would recommend it to anyone!

*Happy piercing!*
