Well, I was looking for something to get, since it had been almost a year before my last piercing, and I was craving another one. So I was looking on bme, and I ran into the snug piercing. I loved it right away, and I decided that I would have to get it done next. I was not 16 yet, so I needed to have parental consent, which I did not exactly have at the time. Because of that, I figured that I would get it done for my birthday, and try to get it done on my birthday. When the day came, I had my friend over for the weekend, and we decided that we would head down to art addictions. I was really excited, because it was a Saturday, and a lot of places were closed. I probably talked to about five different people from five different studios, and they were either closed at the time that I would have been able to come in, or did not have a piercer in that day.

They asked me if I needed anything, and I asked if I was able to get my snug, and my belly button re-done because it rejected(that's another story). They were really friendly about it, and joked around, which I thought was pretty cool of them to be able to do. They were young, but I have seen them around before, so I was comfortable. She asked me for id, and my health card, and she had me fill out a form stating that I was of legal age. She told me that I would not need to choose a barbell because for this piercing, a standard 16g titanium barbell is used, and later changed.
We went into the back room, and I found out that she was the one that was going to be piercing me. I was fine with this, but it surprised me because I didn't know that she was a piercer. Last time, I had Diann pierce me, but I don't think she was working that day. Just running in and out.
She had me lay down and told me that it would be better to do my snug first because it was more painful, so I did. She marked a spot, and I decided to put it on more of an angle, so she changed it, and showed me. I actually had her move the spot again, and again a second time, then back to the spot she had before because I was not sure. She did not seem annoyed at all, so I thought that that was pretty cool.
When it was all marked up, she told me that she had done this piercing many times before, so that basically calmed me down a little. I knew this piercing was not very common, that's why I got it, but I admit I would probably feel a little uneasy about the whole thing knowing that the piercer hasn't done the piercing before.
She took the barbell out of the packet, and put iodine on my ear. She put the clamps on, and told me that if I could handle the clamps, I could handle getting the piercing. She was right. The clamps hurt. She told me to breathe in, and out, and when I did that, that she would pierce me. It hurt. Not intolerable pain, but it did hurt. I don't exactly remember if I actually heard the popping sound because I was trying to keep myself busy, and wasn't really paying attention to it. The barbell went in, and she explained the cleaning to me. She showed me that the needle was only used for me by bending it and throwing it into a bin. It was really long, and thin, which surprised me. My friend that was with me later told me that I bled a lot, but I didn't notice.
After that, I got my bellybutton done again, and it hurt a lot more than the first time. Later, we walked around, got our nails done, and had something to eat. I also realized that she poked the inside of my ear with the needle. Not a big cut, but I guess she did not notice because of the blood that was already on my ear. It was not really painful until about that night, and more so the next week. My ear swelled a lot, and it hurt just to keep my hair behind my ear. The cleaning is pretty quick, but it's really hard to clean until the swelling goes down because it hurts to get the bactine into the piercing.
It's been about two weeks days since I had my snug pierced, and the swelling went down a little. It does not hurt as much as it did before, but I often hit it on random things/people, which is not cool. If you want to get your snug pierced, I say get it, if you have a tolerance for pain, and are ready to take care of it. It takes a long time to heal, and I heard it's also hard to heal, but I'm not positive, so I will just have to find out.
