Well I had been wanting to get a tattoo for about a week, and the other day I thought, today is the day, I will go and get one. I went to the tattoo parlor, anyway to cut a long story short I had to book in for next tuesday. I was gutted that I couldn't get it done there and then, but hey!

I walked around town for a bit, had a coffee, and I thought to myself, hey, lets get a piercing instead (well for the time being til I get my tattoo!). I already have 7 piercings in my left ear, and I wanted another one to add to it ( I have got a bit of a project going on with my left ear piercings!). I asked the girl in the piercing shop what other piercings I could have in my ear, she gave me a few ideas. I was considering having a second shell piercing but unfortunately they didn't have a thick enough bar to do the job, so I went for the anti tragus. I will sure will get the other shell piercing done next time though, but that's another story.

I usually come on line and do some research into the piercing that I'm thinking of getting done, but this time around it was a spur of the moment thing so I couldn't do that. I like to see where it is positioned and what it will look like, just to get some idea of what to expect when I get it done. I guess it was quite different for me to just get it done, and see what it looks like at the end!

The price of the piercing was fairly reasonable, although I know a lot of people who tell me how cheap their piercings were. I just figure that if you pay a cheap price, you get a cheap piercing. I have always got my piercings done at 'The Piercing Shop' in Taunton, Somerset. I know that I will get a decent piercing and they are always really helpful in there with any problems or advice you may need.

I had to fill out a form, like you do, and sign it. I chose my jewelery, a small ice blue ring, it matched my helix jewelery, so I thought that would be quite nice. The girl who was going to do the piercing for me went into the room at the side of the shop and got prepared for me. I went in and had to lie down on the couch (it's like being at the doctors!).

I don't know why every time I go and get a piercing I always ask, "is it gonna hurt?", I know it's gonna be uncomfortable, I guess it's just something you ask! I have had some pretty painful piercings in my ear so I was kind of expecting a certain degree of pain. The girl sprayed some numbing stuff on the area to be pierced, it was so cold!! Then she went ahead with the piercing, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was, compared to some of my other piercings. Once she had done it I had a look in the mirror and I was so happy with it, it compliments my other piercings so well, and it looks really cute. I haven't seen anyone else that I know of with this piercing so it's quite individual, and that is what I like to be, individual!

I carried on with my shopping, my ear felt a bit hot and throbbed a little, but overall it wasn't bad at all. When i got home, I had a good look at it, like you do, and it appeared to be quite bloody. I gave it a good clean, and I felt a lot happier. The only other piercing that bled like that was my helix. Anyway it's stopped bleeding now, I think that was just to do with the fact that I only just had it done. The piercing itself is healing fine at the moment, i rarely have any problems with the healing process. I usually just leave the piercing alone, clean it every so often with the special cleaning stuff that the shop gave me. I find that if you fiddle around with it to much then it can't heal. It tends to be a bit itchy, but just ride it out, and make sure when you clean the piercing that you move the jewelery about, so that it doesn't get stuck and gunky!

Overall this is a fab piercing to have, and I would recommend you to go get it done if you are undecided on what piercing to get. Happy piercing. I will try and add some more of my stories soon.
