Ahh, my tragus piercing! My first piercing besides my lobes.

At first I wanted to get my tongue pierced. I did research on it, and I really was started to want to get it pierced badly. But my parents were not going to let me, so I realized that I needed to think of something less drastic.

I started wanting to pierce my tragus probably back in April, after I was over my tongue piercing thing. Getting permission from my parents was not the easiest thing, to say the least. My friend was also anxious to get her's pierced and she was waiting for me to get permission. If I didn't get permission soon, I would have to get it pierced by myself. But finally after months and months of begging and pleading, my parents finally gave in. Me and my best friend had planned on going down to get it pierced together sometime.

So one day at school during last period, I got the great idea of going to get it pierced right after school that day. We had originally planned on getting pierced the day after, but I was just so excited, I couldn't wait much longer. So after school we went down to Hemp 2000. I was really close to not getting it done, I found out that you should have an appointment to get pierced. I highly recommend calling the piercing place to see if they have any openings right away, or to make an appointment. Anyways, I was lucky and her appointment that was scheduled didn't show up, so in I went to the piercing room. I did some research on BME before I got pierced, and I knew that being in a clean piercing place was a good thing. The room was very clean, and had tons of pictures of people's piercings that they got done there. My piercer Brandi also had 8 years of experience, so I felt I was in good hands. I asked her if it was going to hurt, and she told me not as much as a cartilage piercing, so I thought I would be alright.

My friend hadn't shown up yet, but I needed to get it done without her or else is wasn't going to happen. So I sat on the table and I picked out my hoop, a really cute rainbow one. She cleaned my ear, then she marked my ear and put the hoop over top so I could see how it looked. I loved it already, even though I hadn't been pierced yet. So she took the hoop off and I laid down on the table. She put the receiver behind my ear. I asked if she was going to tell me when she was going to pierce me, because I was so nervous about being pierced with a needle the first time, and as she was saying "Do you want me to?" she stabbed me with the needle. I yelled pretty loud and my eyes started watering, but it wasn't because of pain, it was because it scared me, to be stabbed without knowing it. I didn't hear a pop or anything though. Then she put my hoop in, and I looked at it in the mirror, and I loved it. She went over the cleaning procedure, and then my friend came to get pierced. She didn't yell, but she sort of squirmed on the table. Her's bled a lot for some reason, but it turned out to be OK.

A few weeks later, I noticed that there was a bubble on my ear. Turns out it was a scar tissue bubble, but it went away. Even if it didn't, you can still get rid of them. It's been 3 months since I got pierced, and I still love it. You can put so many different types of jewelry in it, and you can get lots of different ends for the jewelry. So far I have had a labret in, with a rainbow spike, and today I put in a twisted barbell. I got some different ends for the labret and a half hoop too. I'm also looking into getting my 2nd holes done, and I want to get more piercings in my ears.

For anyone who wants to get their tragus pierced, I highly recommend it. It only hurt a little more than my lobes did, and it healed pretty fast. It's a good place to get pierced, it looks cute there, and there aren't as many people that have it done there then in other places. You can put labrets, twisted barbells, mini barbells, hoops, and even eyebrow rings in. And it looks super cool too. So if you want to get yours pierced too, I'd say go for it! Happy piercing!!!
