Ever since I'd seen an Industrial piercing for the first time, I'd been in love with it. I'd been gauging my ears, and I felt I needed something to go with it. I have 3 holes in each ear, all in the lobe, with the bottom one being a 00.

I was desperate enough to try and get the Industrial done by my friend who happened to pierce out of his apartment. I sold an acoustic guitar my friend gave me, and took 20 bucks of the money to Jessie. He pierced it for me, and it was beautiful. However, my parent's didn't think so and as soon as they discovered it, they made me take it out. I even refused and told my mom that I'd move in with my dad. So I did. But my dad made me take it out after a few days because my mom wanted me to move back in with her and she wouldn't stop bitching. Don't be dumb. Don't get things pierced without your parent's permission and don't get things pierced by a friend in an apartment. Go to a sterile tattoo parlor place.

I was really bummed I had to take my industrial out. I'd only had it 2 short weeks. Then I had the bright idea to start working on my parent's approval of it. It was then that I started to beg them both to let me get it re-done for my birthday. After a while of begging, they finally gave in. The guy my mom had been dating helped convince her that she should let me do it. It was my body, my choice. My dad had told me before I started begging them to get it redone that it didn't really bother him much because my hair covered it up. He wasn't too hard to convince to let me get it done.

My dad took me on a Saturday morning to Pokeez located in Greenville, Texas. I'd been there about a year earlier to get my bellybutton done. The same woman who did my bellybutton did my industrial. I'm not sure what her name is, but she's really awesome. She's got quite a few piercings and tattoos, and a grey mullet. I told her that I wanted my industrial done and she led me to the back and I sat down in the infamous piercing chair. The chair at Pokeez is really really awesome. She measured my piercing and put dots on my ear, played with the positioning and the angle of the barbell, and finally I picked out which barbell we would put in. All of this took probably 30 minutes (we talked a bit about different ear piercings, like the conch and vertical industrial and talked about all of her piercings)so by the time we got around to actually doing it, I was really really nervous. My dad and my boyfriend Adam were in the front because they weren't allowed to come back there with me, so I was all alone. It hurt just a bit. Nothing TOO bad. However, I did almost black out. I hadn't eaten anything that day and I guess I was just really really nervous. She led me to the bathroom and I just collapsed on the floor. I thought I was going to throw up. Thankfully, I didn't. I got up and walked to the front of the shop to show my dad and Adam my new equipment. I sat down because I was getting dizzy and the piercer brought me a cold rag (I was really sort of embarased I was having such a hard time with it all, but she was really sweet about it). The total came to 60 bucks. I bought some salt-water spray stuff, which was 10 bucks a can. So really, the piercing was only 50, including the barbell, which was half of it, I believe. I'm not really sure about piercing ettique, so I didn't tip her. Should I tip my piercer? Oh well. She and my dad were talking, and all I really picked up out of the conversation was.. "Oh.. she'll be back". Which is true. My next mission: A little stud in my nose :)

For those of you that want to get your industrial done, I recommend you do it. I love mine quite a bit. I'm thinking of maybe getting another industrial in front of my other one.. sort of like a double industrial? I just saw a picture of one today and I think it looks pretty awesome. I'm not sure yet though. I'll have to talk my parents into it. However, I've already got my mom talked into a small tattoo. Her boyfriend said he'd pay for it :) Awesome, eh? I'm not sure what I want, or where I want it. It has to be smaller than an inch by and inch and it can't be somewhere that's going to draw alot of attention (example: my face)I'm thinking of a star on the back of my neck or the inside crease of my arm, where it bends. I think It'd be pretty neat.
