A few months ago, after a haphazard experience with stretching my lobes, I decided I wanted to do something unique that not many people had. I searched around for days on BME for ideas, or maybe things that I could combine to make my own unique piercing. I eventually came across a pair of lobe to conch orbitals and decided that was the piercing for me. I immediately started asking around for a good piercer in the area, as I knew the placement in orbitals was essential. I came up with a name of a piercer in Greenwood, Indiana and called him to see about pricing and options.

I called Eric at Poked U Tattoo and asked him about pricing. He said he would charge $75 for the pair and that I should come in early for measurements and if I wanted to do a custom jewelry order. I went to see Eric immediately the day after calling him and arrived a bit nervous, being a shy person I'm always nervous meeting new people. He greeted my very cheerfully. I liked his demeanor from the start because he didn't have the oh-so-common "I'm better than you" attitude. We started to talk about the jewelry and he measured my ears to see what size we would need. I wanted 10 gauge so he knew he would probably have to order something and he wouldn't have it in the shop. It ended up that I needed 5/8" captives. I ended up ordering IS titanium because it was the same price as stainless steel and better by far.

I ended up going back in when the jewelry came in for the actual piercing. He showed me the jewelry, which was incredibly shiny and really beautiful and then went back to autoclave them and set things up. I ended up going back there to find he also had an apprentice working with him, which seemed to be a nice guy. I think it was only his first week observing Eric, so he just stood back and watched and didn't really say anything. Eric got all his supplies out and took the old earrings out of my ears. Then, we took a considerable amount of time working on the placement and how exactly I wanted them to look. After we considered placement he put the rings through my existing lobe piercings to mark them so they would be in the right spot. He then got out the needle and placed it behind my ear. He took a considerable amount of time making sure it was lined up exactly right so that there would be no pressure on the piercing when it was done. He then told me the routine "Take a big breath and let it out slowly" thing. I did so and it ended up that I was done letting out my breath before the needle was through. It wasn't really a big deal because honestly it didn't hurt. Although, I enjoy the feeling of getting pierced so some may differ on my idea of pain.

After Eric was done with both of them he gave me a mirror so I could see them. They looked absolutely fabulous. I was so happy with them when I got done. He ended up charging me $65 for the set; I planned to tip and somehow got out of there forgetting to, so next time I go back to him for something I'm going to tip him extra well. I know a lot of people don't tip but he did such a nice job that I think he totally deserved it.

It has now been almost two months since I got my wondrous lobe to conch orbitals and they are doing just fine. I have a small case of "the bump" on the back of the left one but it is just from sleeping on it, which I don't do now, so it will go away with proper aftercare. They were a little tight when I first got them, as to be expected with any piercing, but they have now loosened up quite a bit and so the left one doesn't rest on my tragus anymore like it did for a while. Overall they are amazing and it would definitely do it again. I feel they complete my idea of what I should look like a little better. I'm not to where I would like to be yet in achieving my idea of how I should look, but I get closer and closer every time I get a mod. I plan to go back to Eric for any of my future piercing needs.

I would recommend Eric to anyone in the Indiana area. He's a great piercer and just an overall nice guy. Go see him if you are looking for great work in the Indy area.

Good luck to everyone in his or her future modifications.
