Seems like everyone who writes a story here usually starts out with a little background information about their mods. So I suppose I shall do this as well. Other than the gun piercing at some random place at age 6, my first real piercing happened when I was 16. I wanted to do something different and begged my mom to let me get my eyebrow pierced. She finally caved in and took me. It was a great experience. I remember getting the after care instruction pamphlet after the piercing and on the cover it read "welcome to your new addiction". I thought to myself, no way, that's so stupid! Man...... was it ever right.

A few months later at age 17 I did some more begging to get piercings. I had promised no more facial piercings after the eyebrow. The local piercing place I had gotten my eyebrow pierced had shut down and I ventured on over on my first visit to Millennium Tattoo in Rockford. I wanted to get five piercings done at once. My dad took me in and signed for me and left me on my way. I just wanted my earlobes double pierced, and my cartlidge double pierced in one ear, and just once in the other. Pretty simple, but all 5 at once! wow. talk about bad for sleeping. It was great though, the guy was professional, friendly, and only charged me 50 dollars. I went back some time later after I turned 18 and got a tragus and anti-tragus, later down the line got a rook piercing and my other tragus at a different place, and a few weeks ago got my traguses double pierced at a different place.

After getting my most recent piercings, the double traguses (which, by the way, are AWESOME) I had a craving for more. It's like I go in spurts! When I was there I saw a picture on the wall of this amazing piercing, I found out it was called a conch piercing. I decided after my traguses healed a bit better that I needed to have this.

There was a little bump in the road when I first ventured out to get my conch pierced. I heard good things about a local piercer, and when I called him about it he said he didn't do that piercing because of the high infection risk it carried. This made me slightly worried, as I was already thinking about how much it was going to hurt seeming like such a thick area. So I decided to make the drive out to Rockford to visit Millennium again. I found out they only charged 10 dollars for it, and normally cheap prices like that would worry me, but I trusted them so I was VERY pleased. Everywhere else seemed to be in the range of at least 50 dollars.

I went in with my boyfriend and we were helped and lead back to the piercing area right away. I can't remember his name but he has changed jewelry for me before and he actually said he recognized me from before, even though it had to have been at least a year and 1/2. He was extremely sterile and changed gloves a lot I noticed. He marked a couple places on my ear to see what I might want and had me look in the mirror and I picked the perfect location. I was getting nervous at this point, figuring this would DEFINATELY be the most painful piercing to date. The time came and he told me to breathe in deep, and all I had to say was "was that it?" It was such a cinch! At least for me anyway. All that freaking out for nothing! He gave me a ring as jewelry, I thought that would definately look the best. The first one he put in thought might be a little tight and cause discomfort if there were any swelling, but it looked so perfect I figured I'd be okay. He gave me a ring the next size up for free and told me to get it changed it I felt any discomfort. I am thinking he might be right. Guess I should listen to my piercer! He knows best.

I actually just got this done tonight, just a few hours ago. It's very sore but that's to be expected. I get a good feeling this will be the type of piercing that will take a pretty great deal of time to heal up. I just need to be careful not to knock it around too badly and everything should be okay. :-) So overall it was a great experience and I will definately go back to them again for all future piercings. Cheap prices AND great work? how can one go wrong?
