If any of you know what it is like to want a piercing done so badly but are careful like I am and take your time to read all the information you can online about it then you can relate to my feelings during this experience. For a long time I was thinking about getting my tragus pierced but after reading the online stuff it sounded a little too painful for my liking. Being as I can't have my belly button pierced I wanted something I can get pierced and put in a pretty curved barbell and since the only piercing I ever had that never gave me problems were my ears I decided on something in the ear.

After weeks of researching online different types of places to get an ear piercing done I finally decided that I wanted my inner conch pierced. I ran the idea past my boyfriend and he said he didn't mind if I did it since I had too many tattoos already. Now my thing was reading the horror stories on the internet and people said it was the most painful experience they had and so that made that icky tummy feeling. My boyfriend's friend, his friend's friend, and my boyfriend's cousin and I were sitting at the table when I asked his cousin when she wanted to go to NY. Little to my knowledge she said why don't we go tomorrow. So we all decided that Saturday July 30,2005 we would go to NY in a big group. So now in the next couple hours I tried to find out how much it would hurt etc.. before I went and got the thing done and really got nowhere more than I had during the week that I have been trying to decided whether or not I wanted to get it done.

Saturday when the time came we went to the Village in NY and we walked around for a while and then we went to The Kingdom (the place I got it done at) and I asked how much it would be. The price was $25 which is ½ the price it was by my house in NJ. Now my boyfriend and his cousin are like are you going to go ahead and get it done or what. We all decided we would go eat something and come back so that I could decided for sure if I was going to get it done. While eating I decided I would go through with it if my boyfriend's sister would come down with me and watch me get it done. She agreed to my surprise.

We went back to The Kingdom and I paid. Now there was no turning back. I had to go through with it and I got that icky nervous tummy ache feeling and I was ready to chicken out. We went down and the lady said it wouldn't hurt more than my top cartilage did and for some reason I looked at her funny because I TRULY DID NOT BELIEVE HER!! So she marked the spot where I was to be pierced and I thought it was too high so she then marked a lower spot where my boyfriend's sister said it was too low so we went in the middle of the two marks. I can say that I was not going to let his sister watch my eye expressions because I was afraid of how much it would hurt. She pushed the needle through and it surprisingly did not hurt at all!! But to be 100% honest when she put the jewelry in IT HURT LIKE A BITCH! I can say that was probably the worst pain I experienced ever. The needle again didn't hurt but pushing the jewelry through hurt really badly. And to make things worse it's only a 16g barbell and it hurt that bad. And to think I wanted to get a 14! I don't think that would have went well to be honest. I think that would have hurt a whole lot more than what I got.

It's been a nigh and I slept well last night. It did not hurt or bother me at all through out the night. It did have a burning feeling for an hour after I got it done but now I really wouldn't know it's in there. It doesn't really hurt too bad. So if you're thinking about getting it done and the pain issue is holding you back I would have to tell you that if it's something you really want it's worth the couple minutes of pain. I love it!! It looks so great and I see it as a unique piercing because not many people around here have it done! It was worth the $25 and the 3 minutes of piercing pain!!
