I started with my piercing "craze" when I was 14 and I started it with an industrial. However, ever since then I'd been waiting until I turned 16 to get something else done. The only reason I got to get my industrial so young was because my Dad's friend owed him a favor but after that, I was hooked. I finally found what I wanted pierced here on BMEZINE.COM when I was 15. It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen on an ear and I just had to have it and it was a vertical lobe. I asked my Dad if I could get if for my birthday and he said "no" so I moved on and asked my sister to get me a gift certificate to Millennium for my birthday. She agreed she would if I would draw out her tattoo and pay for it in return. As it drew closer to my birthday I decided I'd better read the other stories posted about the vertical lobe piercing and the more I read the more nervous I was to get it. Then the week before my birthday I lost my I.D. card, so I had to go to the DMV and get a new one and I had to wait until my new card came. Well I finally got my new I.D. card in the mail and I called my dad and told him what my sister had gotten me for my birthday and I asked him when we could go get it done.

So that Sunday rolled around and we drove to Millennium and I filled out the forms and waited to get called back into the parlor, but Dana came out to the lobby instead. She looked at my Dad and asked him if he was the one that would be getting it done today and I said "No, I'm getting it" so she looked at me ear and felt the thickness and decided it could be done. After telling me what a cool 16 year old I was and how brave I was she led me back to the parlor and I laid down on the bed thing. She began marking my ear and we decided on a slight angle so the top ball would sit right next to my tragus. Then she held up the different sized barbells next to it to see which one would be the right size and we had to go with an inch long 14 gauge barbell. The other ones would have been too small to tolerate any swelling so I have a little overhang but it's alright. Then she decided that it would be easier to go from the bottom up through my anti tragus. She told me she wasn't going to count but she was going to tell me to breathe in and to breathe out because of how long the piercing would take. So I turned my head and she told me that my regular lobe piercing would probably open up but it wasn't anything to be worried about. Then she told me to take a deep breathe and hold it in until she told me to exhale. Then I felt the needle go into the bottom of my lobe and she said exhale. Then she started pushing the needle up towards my anti tragus all the while telling me to inhale and exhale. Then she paused and told me that she was going to go through the cartilage on the next push . I said ok and then I heard the infamous pop and I felt the most pain I'd ever felt in my ear. It stung and it throbbed and it just plain hurt. Although it didn't hurt as badly as I thought it would, it still hurt a heck of a lot. Then I felt the blood dripping into my ear and I felt it flowing down the side of my face and I all I could think of was that this would be the coolest piercing ever and I can't wait to get my other one done. After "\Ãw€ë Dana slid the barbell in she had some trouble putting the balls on because of the blood but she got them on and cleaned up my ear and led me through the aftercare procedure. She then gave me a brochure to remind me on how I need to clean it. Then I went out to pay and I left her a $30 tip because she did such an amazing job with it. Afterwards I had to go grocery shopping and I was way glad I took some Ibuprofen before I got it pierced because it hurt pretty bad with it in my system so I couldn't imagine how badly it would hurt with out it. It kept bleeding for quite some time as well. I was walking around Wal Mart with a bloody ear and I'm sure it grossed some people out.

The next day I woke up and it was just a little sore and bruised so I took a shower and cleaned it as well as I could without moving it. It gets caught on everything though which really sucks. The day after I hooked it on the seatbelt and I freaked out because of how badly it hurt. It also got infected from bacteria in my hair but it's all healed now.

I would recommend this piercing if you can handle pain well and if you don't live in Loveland Colorado because I want it to be my unique piercing!
