I have plenty of piercings done. But I've always wanted an industrial. It looks so cool on other people, have a barbell between your ear. For the longest time, all I've ever had were regular ear lobe piercings. I currently have 4 on my left, 1 cartilage and 5 on my right, and also 1 cartilage. I use to have 2 cartilage on my left but it got infected. Sad to say, I guess i should've taken better care of it. But now, I have an industrial on my left! I also have a tongue and a clit hood piercing.

I heard from people that it hurt really bad, mainly the second hole more than the first. This made me hesitate on getting the piercing. But, since my last piercing (clit hood), I've been wanting more metal. Piercing can be so addicting, once you start you can't stop. I wish i had not waited so long to get it. I think it would've made more since to get the industrial first, mainly because my family don't really approve of my tongue piercing. Since its the ear, its no big deal.
Since i had my clit hood piercing done at Zebra, in berkeley. I liked the piercer who did it for me, Kerri, but she wasn't there yesterday. Instead it was a guy, I believe his name was Tim? I grabbed my cousin and asked her to go with me. She said yes and we drove over to Berkeley. Parked in the parking lot, and walked over to Zebra. It was really hot that day, and I just realized I hadn't eaten anything all day. But I said oh well, I'll just get food later. When we arrived, Zebra was busy. It always was, both a piercing and tattoo studio. There were a lot of people waiting to get something pierced or tattooed. I spoke with a girl behind the counter, and I signed a release form and showed my id. She asked me which barbell I wanted, you can choose either a reg. surgical steel or one with color balls, or spikes or jeweled balls. I picked pink balls. It came out to a total of $68 dollars, $30 for the piercing and $36 for the jewelry. Since its has pink balls, its a little more expensive, whereas if I had gotten a regular surgical steel barbell, it would've been $28. But I like a little flair. She handed me an aftercare sheet, and asked if I needed to be explained to about aftercare. Considering I've had previous piercings, I said I was ok. I went to the counter and paid, the cashier clerk gave me a number. Me and my cousin were waiting until it was my turn, and I was extremely nervous. After I saw the number 50 on the screen, we both walked back into the piercing room.
I met Tim I think, the piercer actually didn't say much. There was another worker there cleaning out the garbage can, and we waited in silence until he finished. When he left the room, the piercer told me to sit in the chair, he pointed to a stool. I should have realized it before but it was actually when i was at home thinking it over that he did not say anything at all. I sat quietly on the chair, watched him do his thing. He marked my ears with a toothpick, but he didn't ask whether I liked the placement or not. After he marked it, he didn't even say he was ready to pierce me. I grabbed onto my cousin's hand and I was expecting excruxiating pain. But it felt like a normal ear piercing the cartilage. I'm not exactly sure what he did, but he slide the bar into both holes using one needle. Then he screwed on the balls and I was done.
He asked if I wanted to take a look. Of course I wanted to look, who wouldn't. Although my entire ear was red, it look beautiful. I loved it. After I tipped him $10 we left. I felt a little light headed, but nothing I couldn't handle.
So before you decide on a place to get pierced make sure you know the staff well. I liked the other piercer, Kerri who did my clit hood, she explained everything and was definitely more friendly. I think because of him I might go back to Body Manipulations in Frisco where I got my tongue done. They seem a lot more professional.
All in all, it was alright. Its a little swollen right now, but it seems fine. I clean it with antispetic twice a day and do salt soaks twice a day, one during the morning and one at night. There was a little pus, but I assume its normal, after all its only the 2nd day.
To anyone who wants to get one, I say go for it! I absolutely love it, and if you want to do something, then go for it. Don't hold back.
