The moment I got my tragus pierced back in July, I knew I wasn't finished with my piercing collection. I knew I wanted more, but what would I get.

I fished through the pictures and after long thought I decided, I need the anti-tragus on the opposite ear from my tragus. Now, it took me over 2 years to get the guts for my tragus and this one, I didn't have to think too hard about. I just had to wait until I got money.
There's one place that just about everyone goes to and I always hear of good results from there and my parents also went there for their tattoos. I had gotten my tragus pierced out of town and so I had to trust what people said.
It's New Year's Eve and my sister suggests we go the next day to get it done. She wanted her snug pierced, but I convinced her to get an industrial instead. We get ready to go and I'm all excited and nervous and then we arrive at the shop and IT'S CLOSED! that was going to take up most of our night and when we couldn't do it, we had nothing left to do! so disappointing! They were open the next day, but i had to work. We decide to go after my sister and I get off from work at 6 on monday.
I meet up with my sister and a friend and I call another friend to meet us there. We get there around 6:30 and the place closes at 8. They have strange times. The place is really busy and we're not really sure who we are supposed to be talking to. Then a lady approaches us and she's really spacey, so I was sort of hesitant to talk to her. She almost seemed as if we were crazy for being there. We tell her what we want and I say, "I want the anti-tragus." and she has the most blank look on her face. She had no clue what I was talking about and I showed her and she still seemed confused, she even wrote tragus on my paper and she told me to tell him what I wanted. She tells us to pick the jewelry, I wasn't sure what to get or what size and she was no help. I decide on the 16g CBR to match the 16g CBR in my tragus.
Bob was our piercer. He was doing a tattoo when we came in and we had to wait until he was finished with it. We waited for over an hour and normally if I wait too long, I would eventually talk myself out of it, but I had already paid.
He's ready for us. My sister went first and it was her first needle piercing, so she was a bit nervous. Then he's ready for me. He looks at my paper and asks if it's the tragus I want and I explain that it's the anti-tragus and he gives me a weird look too. He even said, "Weird." There were 3 guys working and the 2 I talked to hadn't ever heard the term "anti-tragus". I knew I wasn't crazy and it was possible to have it pierced.
Well, this was the first time Bob had done this piercing. That made me a bit more nervous, but i trusted him. He marked the ear and let me know he was going from the back. Then he tries to put the forceps on and it was really difficult b/c the area is so small and he kept having to pull at it and finally got the forceps on.
I don't really remember the actual piercing and just remember him saying, "ok." and in goes the needle and I just say, "hmmmm." He puts the cork on and tells me that I look like I have headphones on, then tells me he's putting in the jewelry and by this time, I can feel the blood forming a pool in my ear. I didn't feel the jewelry go in my ear at all.
Now, he has to close the ring. Because of the placement of the piercing, it was really difficult to get the pliers in properly to close the ring. He had to try 5 different pliers to finally bend it enough. Then he was trying to put in the bead. Because the area was so small, he couldn't get his hands and pliers where they needed to be. He tried so many times that I finally asked if I would look dumb to go without the bead and he said I could do it and then he dubbed it "the gravity defying piercing". He finally got the bead on and I finally saw it and loved it.
It's only been 2 days and it is doing really well. It hurt a little worse than my tragus, but I think it's because of the inexperience of the piercer, but I would use Bob again. I love it and don't regret it. I recommend the piercing for any one that's thinking about getting it.
