I decided, as it has been over 18 months since my last piercing that it was about time to meet my pointy friend the needle again, and considering my "piercing buddy" Zoe was in town it seemed like the perfect opportunity as she lives 2.5 hrs away and our piercer had moved to town aswell so it seemed just ment to be.

I went there with either a Madonna or an Anti Tragus in mind, but as she has just moved shop she had limited jewellery on hand and all she had was this little gold barbel, so off my mind went ticking as to where I was going to find a home for this little fella so looking in a mirror I decided on this little bit on my ear, I asked her what she thought and she hadn't done one before but if that was what I wanted she was willing to try it, and considering I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this little barbel it seemed like the perfect spot.
So Zoe fronted up for hers incidently she got her eyebrow done. Then it was my turn. I never get nervous with my piercings as a general rule but today being something that she hadn't done before I was a little apprehensive and that I hadn't had a look on here for past stories or experiences. And for me that was a fairly new thing considering I have my tongue, nose, belly, both nipples, both traguses, 3 earrings in each ear and one cartilage I was feeling like a big Wuss.
I hopped up on the bed and presented my little snug. She wiped and marked until I was happy with the placement, I ended up having to have it put on a slight diagonal even though I have a ridge she figured it would be better because she would get more in the piercing. Then came the clamp OH MY GOH!!!!! It hurt so badly. I mean gee I have had 2 kids and multiple piercings and a fairly high pain threshold but maaaaaaaan that hurt! All that was racing through my head was how bad is this going to hurt, and it had better look good. Because I hadn't made up my mind as to what I wanted before I went in there I didn't have a chance to have a look on here to even find out what it was called I was just calling it that lil bit just there... or to read what others had put here about it or how painful it really was. For me it was intense she couldn't push the needle through all the way in one hit because it may have hit the other side in my head (ummm I am guessing not a good look haha) so I felt every bit of the two parts of it that she did the first half then the second half, Zoe who has been with me for basically all of my piercings said she hasn't seen me in that much pain before and honestly I don't recall my nipples even hurting this bad and I got them both done on the same day!! Then came the time for the jewellery and all of my huffing and puffing through it and face pulling (I must have been funny as hell with all of the faces). She handed me the mirror and I fell in love!! Even though it was an unusual piercing as far as Mackay is concerned the diagonal made it even more unusual. Although trying to keep my hands off is proving to be a bit of a challenge! It's so cool all I want to do is touch it to make sure it's still there because if it ever falls out there is no way I am lining up to get it done again!!
Because Mackay is a fairly small town I haven't seen anyone else with this piercing and I think that's awesome! I can't say that I would line up and get my other one done because it hurt so bad but hey I love the one I have! Healing for this one is proving to be a bit of a challenge, it is now 4 days old and is kind of red and a little swollen I have never had any troubles before with healing and am keeping up the saline solution twice a day and the soap in the shower once a day and getting the dreaded "crusties" off all of the time. But hey it's the price of the pointy friend you have to heal!
Happy Piercing and Healing...
